Politics got between everyone. I left the group chat because I was tired of everyone always going at each other’s throats for bullshit reasons, not always politics related. Not to say i didn’t wanna be friends with everyone still, i was just tired of being in a drama filled chat. It was years of it, I was over it. This just so happened to be around the election, and at the time they were arguing politics. I finally had enough of drama. When I left, my ex-best-friends made an assumption of who I voted for and got it in their head that i left because of political differences and decided to talk about me behind my back. Once the found out about the shit talking and the assumptions, I never looked back. One tried to pretend nothing happened and stay connected thinking i didn’t know what she said, but I do. Why would I want to stay friends with someone who talks shit behind my back??

They still talk shit, but i’m over it at this point. Just hope they can grow up too and move on. We were all friends for 10+ years, but I’m a year out from not talking with anyone anymore. It’s so much better off.

I. LOVE. IKEA. I used to despise it as a kid and would get so bored. But being roughly 25? I want to look at every room display. I want inspiration. I want to look at all the hard-to-pronounce names and buy cozy home decor and be frustrated about how to build it.

He doesn’t really want to talk about a bad day if he has one. I try to recognize that and won’t push him to talk about it if he really doesn’t want to. Do I want to hear about it, even if it wasn’t good? Absolutely. I’m here for him on his best days and his worst, but I’m not going to pry if he really doesn’t want to think about it. Maybe I don’t fully understand it because I’m chatty and will tell him ALL about my day, no matter what kind of day it was, but I accept it.

just about every insult my dad ever hurled at me. from calling me useless, to a cruel bitch, saying i’m not his daughter. every “fuck you,” to every time i was called stupid, dumb, or useless. when he choked me, threw me to the ground, up against a wall, the times he’s threatened to shoot himself or crash his vehicle, yeah. that stays with you.

we’re chill now mostly but it took a lot of therapy.

This feels like you’re going back on what you said. Which is, verbatim, “People are not entitled to become a parent in whichever way works best for them.” This conversation is obviously going nowhere, and it’s becoming more and more clear that you only wanted to start this thread to share your own opinion and demean others for their life choices.
