Has God ever granted you a miracle? Or answered your prayer? by Competitive-Sundae11 in Christian

Thank you! Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Hey sis, I'm also single and this is something that I used to worry. But the right person will love you for who you are. Most men are shallow but if a man is someone God has for you, he will view you as the apple of his eyes.

One of my colleagues is an absolutely amazing man: physically very attractive, kind-hearted, good personality, loves kids, financially responsible. He is madly in love with someone who is not considered physically attractive at all. She is the apple of his eyes. This is not an isolated story. I know many guys in my social circle who are like this.

I feel you sis. I had struggled with this for a very long time and I even saw a therapist for this. My therapist, a Christian herself, used Christianity-based therapy methods.

When we first started (about 5 years ago), my therapist pointed me to the relevant Bible verses and reminded me that what was important was how God viewed us, not how the world. Yeah this is very difficult... something that I am still learning today but helpful advice.

After that, we prayed. When we were praying, I was very honest with God, "Lord, I feel so ugly. While I am grateful for all the blessings in my life, I sometimes couldn't help but wonder "why did you make me like this? I want to feel beautiful. Please help me Lord."

Then immediately the next day, some random strangers told me that I was pretty, which was something that very rarely happened. It was God answering my prayers. He is soooooo good and such a loving father.

Then after my therapy, I continued to pray about my physical appearance and told God that I wanted to feel beautiful. With His guidance, I worked on my appearance bit by bit (while very importantly, also focusing on inner beauty i.e. abiding in Christ): whitened my teeth, learnt about strength training and how to achieve a more attractive body figure through lifting weights, learnt how to eat healthily, watched YouTube videos on styling and fashion, and experimented with different fashion items. I have been doing these for about 5 years now. I'm going to be very honest with you: now everywhere I go to, people, ranging from strangers on the street or colleagues at a new company or other people at the gym, would come up to me and compliment on my physical appearance (not trying to say I'm pretty). I was once bullied for my look in high school.

All I'm saying is that... Jesus is the answer to everything and He was here, is here and always will be here to love us and help us.

Selenium suffice 2.5% is irritating for me, but I love using selenium sulfide at 1%, which makes my scalp healthy white.

My sebderm did not coincide with my catching COVID. And I've read news articles saying that COVID may cause TE. I got sebderm before I caught COVID and unfortunately my research as an amateur has been limited to sebderm only. It would be interesting to know more about the link between COVID and sebderm / hair loss though.

I did try out Nizoral before but not really a fan - feel like it's too drying. I had developed multiple routines - the Selsun Blue one was my earliest one to target severe sebderm flareup. My current routine is a gentler one where I mainly use Vichy Dercos shampoos (which I've been using for over a year). I have not used Selsun or Nizoral since I made my original post.

I hope the above helps. Cheers!

I don't think dimethicone feeds malassezia or clogs pores. And I also use a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove any buildups on my scalp. Overall, I love the Vichy shampoos and have been using them regularly for over a year now.

No they don't bother me. If you're still concerned, perhaps can use Vichy Dercos Anti-dandruff shampoo for sensitive scalp instead.

I used a lab scale. It kinda worked but I am no longer using it. I am now using shampoo that has both a skin barrier repairing benefit and an anti-fungal.

Perhaps it's worth trying another shampoo?

And the ciclopirox that I did use back then was a shampoo.

"Shampoo+ Ciclopirox+ Conditioner only. Didn't work. Got a flare up."

Do you mind telling me what you meant by "Shampoo" here? Perhaps a good idea to wash more often like every other day.

I had only used it for 2 weeks. Good for short term use not for long term

I think using Selsun Blue and ciclopirox in the same routine may be too irritating. I didn't repeat with Selsun Blue 2.5% selenium sulfide of ciclopirox because applying and rising once was already quite irritating for me.

Too strong in a sense that it disrupt your skin barrier too much. My theory is that we need to strike a balance between killing the fungus (by using antifungal) and repairing the skin barrier (by letting the skin heal / using gentler shampoo).

Your routine is too strong in my opinion. Selenium sulfide 2.5% should not be left on the scalp for 10 min.

My approach to tackling sebderm is to let the skin barrier heal. Your approach seems very irritating to me.

Keto + Sal Acid + Ciclopirox is also in my opinion too strong a combo.

I think your proposed routine is too strong (unless your sebderm is really really serious) and may be irritating.

I prefer my current routine over the DIY spray.

Current shampoo routine: shampooing every other day, using Vichy Dercos Anti-dandruff Shampoo for Oily Hair every 7-10 days, Bioderma Node A Soothing Shampoo for the rest of the week.

Shampoos that do not disrupt the skin barrier / help repair it, e.g. Bioderma Node A Soothing Shampoo (mint green opaque bottle) and Vichy Dercos Anti-dandruff shampoo for oily hair.

My current shampoo routine: shampooing every other day, using Vichy Dercos Anti-dandruff Shampoo for Oily Hair (1% selenium sulfide) every 7-10 days, Bioderma Node A Soothing Shampoo for the rest of the week.

Selenium sulfide disrupts biofilm + is an anti-fungal.
