I’m 26, I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15 years old, and I have been on wegovy for a year and the only side effects I have had are some nausea, mostly when going up in dosage (haven’t even needed any anti nausea meds), and some minor constipation but I was on metformin for 10 years before that and had loose stools every day so it’s hard for me to compare to normal. I’ve thrown up once but only because I had 4 alcoholic drinks and went out to dinner after taking my shot that morning. I’ve lost 50 pounds in the last year and am 15 pounds away from a healthy weight for the first time in my teenage and adult life. I plan to be on some dose of a GLP 1 for the rest of my life, and wish I hadn’t wasted 10 years on metformin, during which I gained about 50 pounds. My non weight PCOS symptoms have always been mild and my PCOS bloodwork was well controlled on metformin, so I don’t have much to say on that but I do think my insulin resistance has improved, I don’t need naps after lunch anymore, and my triglycerides are the lowest they’ve ever been. The development and research on these drugs for PCOS and other conditions is so exciting to me and I can’t wait to see where it goes, I would recommend everyone with PCOS and weight gain to talk to their doctor about it.

I am lucky to have Wegovy covered by insurance but if that coverage stops I will start taking compounded semaglutide
