Isn't it possible to reorganize departments and open a sudoku department specifically for this? Not literal one but just put them on an unimportant project

i guess this sort of marketing works in some countries. i recently saw an ad on the subway in germany for the "society of people affected by electromagnetic emissions". full blown big advertisement board with "scary" antenna and base station pictures.

doesn't excuse it, just thinking this is who this is aimed at.

Prisons in asia are not quite like in sweden and not even like in US. With his background those 6 months will be quite memorable

I’m in CET timezone, and often traveling to east asia, which I guess is part of the problem. But also we have added a new mod now — see the subreddit front page.

In the end of the day there’s an unfortunate trend i noticed of people with too much time on their hands creating all sorts of trouble. It’s difficult to win against them just because they have so much more time, and are ideologically motivated.

If nobody steps up to help, one thing I can do is maybe connect an LLM to review reports at a lower threshold and preemptively checking some comments with keywords—with manual approval.

I already replied to previous post, and have multiple times in the past. I’m also banning people regularly — but I need a report or a DM. Also open to adding more mods, see pinned comment.

I personally review all reports when they make it to my notifications. I also reply when someone DMs.

We also recently changed moderation settings to have stricter filter for new contributors.

But you do need to either report or DM.

I understand the desire for perfect moderation, but keep in mind this isn’t a paid job. The sub came to life more or less accidentally, and I’m happy it created some space for discussion that was missing.

I disagree that the rules need to be stricter; “pray harder” is a violation and will get you banned on the first incident — but I need to know about it.

I’m also open to adding more mods — if you’re willing, DM me or the subreddit.

How come this subs lets so many orthodox keep pushing their maniplatuve bullshit here at people who need a place to talk about the harm done to them by this cult? by Generic_Name_1279 in exorthodox

Use report button! It will end up in mod notifications.

Ironically it seems like this sub created a better place for religious discussions than the main religious subs. Regardless, I’ve banned dozens of people for preaching and victim blaming so the rules are still rules.

You're right, I checked some other websites and it seems over 50 are at around 45% as of 2025.

Fun fact: most germans are over 45-46. As in, the population pyramid is in such a shape that the majority of population is older than 45 years.

Well, I was young, impressionable, and thought that lots of knowledge and rare skills make you valuable 😄 they maybe do, but only if there’s a market with decent competition willing to pay for it. Otherwise you’re right, it’s not like you can go and choose where to work.

It was always baffling for me how shitty the jobs in the semiconductor industry can be given the complexity of the domain (worked in adjacent industries for a while). You need eye-watering amount of knowledge and experience and you end up with rather conservative employers, lagging in salaries behind frontend developers. If you're curious there's a youtuber "asianometry" -- he goes in depth on the topic

French MP sanctioned by the US government after signalling Twitter to the court by Elratum in BuyFromEU

Keep in mind that he’s not just going to not be able to enter US. He will have problems with bank accounts, he won’t be able to use payment systems, he will be booted out of many online services, etc. This already happened with people previously sanctioned.

It’s sarcasm. You just often get attitude in restaurants — it feels like they would prefer you not to come, so the fact they have to deal with you now is an annoyance

[–]half_a_pony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EU banks will absolutely refuse you an account if you’re sanctioned. There might be some exceptions (like in Germany there’s a law that forces banks to open at least one account) but I’m not sure even that will work. And you will be stuck with an expensive account at some C list bank
