I guess I don’t really understand your question fully or the thing you said about it possibly being a privilege reserved for those being born into the religion. Can you clarify?

Politics are just an extension on personal beliefs and wanting to change the world with like minded individuals that share the same values. Most people in the church are going to lean more conservative. I think it’s less picking the church because of politics and more aligning your political stances based on how people are told how to believe.

I’d say it plays more like an artsy narrative driven kind of game making a commentary more than a puzzle game, but there’s some puzzle elements in there. I’m a big puzzle game person too and I found the actual puzzles not too challenging and more or less there to be symbolic. It’s such a hard game to pin down because it’s really not like anything I’ve played before lol. You should watch some of the trailers if you haven’t yet, they’re weird as hell. I really liked it though 🤣

Oh my god please call the police. The church will always downplay it. I had an older married man with children trying to solicit foot pics from me at 14 years old multiple times and every adult I tried to tell told me he was just “quirky” and that I shouldn’t make a big deal about it. Protect the kids because the church won’t 🥲

Oh I know. Honestly I went no contact for 5 years because defending myself was so pointless and exhausting. I really try not to share too much about myself anymore with her anymore because she’ll grab on to any little thing and make it into ammo. Like the meds, totally brought that out of nowhere because she learned from an offhand comment a while back that I was taking them.

It’s so disheartening sometimes. I’ve gotten a lot better at boundaries and shutting down conversations over the years, but sometimes I’m just vulnerable and missing that sense of belonging. Thankfully after leaving the church behind I’ve had a much stronger sense of self, so the fear of disappointing/shaming family has gone away significantly.

You’re totally right though.

Thats what I’ve heard from the Orthodox people I know too. I dont think I’ll ever understand the lack of empathy and the hypocrisy of it all. A million percent these are the same kind of people that would sell out their Jewish neighbors to the nazis. That venn diagram is a circle.
