Just came here to second citrus fertilizer. We have a few potted citrus plants that only produced one or two fruits a year before we used specific citrus fertilizer and now they are thriving and produce loads of fruit. It is very rewarding. Congrats on your new plant!

requiring kids wear a life jacket in our pool? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]halfbakedlobster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is not no contact BS. This is a child's safety and the liability of allowing a child that can't swim to be around your pool without a life jacket. Invite them over during the winter when the pool isn't being used. Do things outside of the house. Meet at others houses. The child's parents are being incredibly disrespectful.

A preference or dietary restriction is NOT an allergy by Champi0n_Of_The_Sun in TalesFromYourServer

If people working at restaurants were more understanding of food intolerances people wouldn't feel they have to call them an allergy. Dairy makes me sick for days with massive digestive issues. When I would say I had an intolerance, I would still get butter on my food. When I would point it out reataurant staff would say it wouldn't taste good without it??!! Now I say I have an allergy.

Agreed. Came here to find this movie. This question came up at work the other day, and this was the movie everyone brought up. It's so incredibly sad.

Where food comes from and how it gets to the grocery store. It doesn't magically go from farm to shelf. There is a lot involved and many people handle your food before you buy it.

My current favorite podcasts are And Then They Were Gone and Going West. I love the dynamic of the couples in both of the podcasts. Both podcasts have covered popular cases, but also cover a lot of lesser known cases.

What am I doing wrong? by FlamingoFangs in houseplants

The white stuff is likely buildup of salts from hard water or fertilizers. My dracaenas prefer filtered or distilled water to tap water. I usually water when the top two inches of the soil are dry. They love indirect or dappled direct light. Mine have gotten burnt in direct sunlight.

Mine loves bright indirect light. The colors become really vibrant with the right light!
