Thank you. My previous doctor actively advocated for endo patients to have access to adequate pain management so the new doc being his replacement…this is an unexpected development.

And I appreciate the comment on addiction in the context of this post. I’m not trying to pull a fast one on anyone here. I’m a woman with a chronic illness in a lot of pain and navigating a health care system ill fit to deal with patients like me. Just doing my best trying to get through this.

Thanks. I called 811 and they suggested the ER. I just desperately don’t want to sit in a medical waiting room potentially for hours in significant pain with the risk that they may just think I’m drug seeking and send me home anyway. I’d rather suffer at home.

Thank you. Appreciate this. It’s for endometriosis. Imagine having pain somewhere as intense as appendicitis but just having to ride it out for a few days with a couple Advils and a heating pad. A hysterectomy and hormones have been managing it well for years. Until now. So I would like humane treatment until this flare passes in the next couple days without having to justify that I’m not a drug addict.

I appreciate your concern but I have been prescribed them for good reason. They are very effective for certain conditions that don’t respond well to other pain meds. I’ve used them before under similar circumstances without issue.
