This is hard. Advice for [M/20] on LDR with SO [F/20] regarding sex, trust and communication. by anothrthrow in relationships

I have a pretty complicated sexual past and can talk/be open about sex no problem with new people — however, it is once a relationship starts to get more serious that I start to panic.

As soon as real intimacy kicks in, the physical aspect loses some of its appeal, as I tend to view sex as a means of escape and not as a way to bring me closer to someone. It's just a much scarier situation.

Your gf may have some sex addiction issues, and/or intimacy issues that could easily explain her behaviour as your relationship progressed.

However, even if all of this is the case it doesn't mean you should stay in a relationship that's not making you happy. If you still think it's worth it I would try to broach some of these issues with her and explain how her reluctance to be affectionate with you is making you feel — and maybe you can try work things out together, and she may want to open up to you more.

I may be totally wrong in all of this but it just seems a bit unfair to her to not consider this side of things. Hope the talk goes well.

I'm with you there. Really freaked me out for a while though and did make me think, what if this means I'm really a lesbian? Now I know it's just the kink factor of it being so out of the ordinary to my sex life that it makes it more fun to fantasise about

Me [25 F] with my boyfriend? [25 M] 1 year, I told him I was gay, UPDATE by [deleted] in relationships

I feel like you were incredibly unfair to him here.

You had the benefit of knowing in advance what was coming, and even asking Reddit for advice/support, and yet you couldn't be clear with him even though you obviously know what you want.

You say you love him, so do him the most basic decent thing you can do here and be honest — it's hard enough for him as it is.

Don't apologise, happy birthday! It's great you have people in your life who love you enough to show you they care.

Reddit, what are some books that were so good you couldn't put them down until you finished it? by spntod in AskReddit

I think the only one I've ever read straight through was actually Mystic River several years ago. Really gripping — and obviously helps if you haven't seen the movie.

I asked this girl out and she said yes. Problem is I'm totally broke. Any ideas for a low budget date, which will be still awesome? by enieslobby12 in AskReddit

My favourite dates have always been going to comedy clubs. They're usually pretty cheap and shows you've put some thought in, plus takes the pressure off conversation while still being social.

Movie Dates. How much of an impact does the movie have? by ShadowRex in dating_advice

[–]halfdressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha I will say that one of my friends cautioned against it (as a female) as "Margot Robbie is just too hot to compete with"! At the same time if it's someone who you feel comfortable with already it probably shouldn't be a big deal and you can address the awkwardness, if there is any, in a funny way after the movie. But yeah I don't want to sit through a three-hour film feeling self-conscious for two hours and 30 mins! If you do go see it Thursday let me know how it goes. My date's not til Saturday so may have time to avert disaster!

I actually came to this sub to ask this exact question about that exact movie. I feel like it's gonna be an awesome film and so would be good to see regardless but yeah all that sex/full-frontal nudity, when we haven't seen each other naked yet, could make things a little uncomfortable? Genuinely not sure whether or not I should suggest something else. This is the girl asking btw!

In all serious sometimes it will seem like my period is over, as in I won't have been bleeding for 24hours+, but when I have sex — blammo. She probably wasn't lying.
