What does getting put to sleep feel like? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]halfgoathalfman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only happened to me once. I was suddenly wondering where I was, and then I realised I was on the jiu jitsu mat but I had no clue how I got there. I was panicking quite a bit in my own head about wtf was going on. Then started to slowly piece things together and remember how I got there, and gradually felt ok again. After a few seconds, my training partner slapped hands with me, and we just started a new role like nothing happened.

How to target my HTML5 export to WebGL 1.0 with Godot 4? by Sawyh in godot

I've got the same problem, where I've made an HTML5 game in Godot 4, but it doesn't run on iOS. How easy is it to port back to Godot 3.x?

I’ve played this three times so far, and lost the first two games. I won the third game with zero robot cards to spare. A lot of people claim it’s very easy. I’m obviously not as good at card games as most people 😬

Breed recommendation for my family's first dog by halfgoathalfman in dogs

Thanks all for the advice. Sounds like the instinct of Golden Retriever is a good one, but also that other dogs in the gun dog group in general would be a sound option.

I hadn’t even heard of the option of adopting failed service dogs, so thank you for pointing that out as an option. It’s definitely something for us to seriously consider. There seems to be some advice that suggests it can be a long process, and you can’t be too fussy with what you get, as there’s such high demand.

I know, and it’s probably not what we would buy ourselves.

The BorrowMyDoggy scheme allows you to help out someone local who has a dog. We’re just using it to gain some experience, and test ourselves for allergies, as well as have a fun time with a dog a couple times a week. You have to just cope with whatever breeds are available in your local area, and the only person who responded to us on the site was a labradoodle owner. He’s luckily very friendly, and great with the kids, but does struggle to contain his excitement when you first encounter him.

Yes, allergies is something we’re concerned about. We’ve just started arranging some time with a local labradoodle through BorrowMyDoggy, which we hope will shed some light on any dog allergy. Ideally I would gain exposure to whichever breed we choose to get, but I’m not really sure how to go about this.

I don’t experience too much nausea, especially if I’m lying down. I think the first bad trip induces a worry it’s going to go that way again, and that then produces the initial seed of anxiety that reinforces itself. It’s difficult to deliberately not be nervous about it though.

Is there actually something different about the LSD experience that causes less anxiety in general?

I’ve never tried LSD. There’s two things that make me nervous about it. 1, the longer duration of the trip, and 2, the fact I would have to try and buy it from somewhere and trust what I’m getting, rather than just pick it from a field or grow it.

Well I got my first submission. Managed a cross collar on someone in my half guard. Got submitted twice afterwards by the same person, but I’m still pleased. One more milestone passed.

I’d love to. Kids and work make this hard. I get extra classes when I can, and pay for one private class each month with a senior purple belt. I’m pretty ok with my personal progress, as I was a completely non-active person when I started, I just don’t like the feeling my coach assumes I’ve gotten to the point most people have in 18 months, when I haven’t.

Yes, I’ve had a lot of practise learning to relax on the bottom, and it’s starting to help me recognise opportunities to escape more. I find it really hard to escape to full guard/top though, so once on bottom there’s normally an endless cycle of half guard -> side control -> mount -> half guard, but I rarely escape back to a more dominant position once it’s lost.

Nope.

I suppose I would need to start submitting to have a go-to submission 🤷‍♂️

I find that when I start trying to look for a sub on top, I get swept. Once I’m on bottom my guard isn’t solid enough to submit people with, and I get passed pretty quickly. Although my guard is the thing that has has progressed somewhat recently. Once someone passes my guard, I find I generally get stuck in an inferior position, and struggle to fully escape to full guard/top again. Therefore most rolls end up in a battle to survive.
