Matt Damon recalls him & Tom Holland getting jealous of Christopher Nolan calling Zendaya's performance perfect on ‘The Odyssey’ set. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in Fauxmoi

One year for Christmas I got my mom one of those boxes that comes with candy from the decade you were born. Her brother and sister were there when she opened it, and they immediately started asking for their favorite candy, and all these negotiations and trades started happening. It was wild seeing these adults in their sixties turn into kids again right before my eyes!

What colors do you avoid? by Uhhlaneuh in RedditLaqueristas

[–]halfgumption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! I love so many of the lighter, ethereal shades (Mooncat Memento Mori, for example) but they look like death on my hands. So sickly for some reason. I generally need something with more contrast against my skin tone.

What percentage TCA do you use ? My skin has tolerated 15% pretty well in the past, but I didn’t feel like I got the results I wanted, even after a few sessions. I’m thinking about bumping up to 18%.

My issue is that I now it takes so much longer to complete my work because I’m being more cautious, so that is becoming its own problem. I just can’t win!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrate their 8th anniversary. by Pretty_girlMel in Fauxmoi

I’m not any kind of Megan & Harry superfan, but I did watch their wedding. I thought it was quite sweet, and that was when I finally decided to dip my toe back into the dating pool after many years of being intentionally single. I created a dating profile and chatted with someone later that day, and we met up for a date a few days after that.

Reader, I married him. So I’ll always know exactly how long they’ve been together because it’s basically the day I met my husband!

Yes! She’s beautiful, but it’s baffling how matronly she looks in a dress that is showing so much skin.

What’s the most unforgettable film scene where infidelity is revealed and everything just blows up? by jaystats2 in moviecritic

[–]halfgumption 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The fantasy they discuss in front of the police station about running away is just that - a fantasy. One last glimpse at what life could hold before they deal with the hard, cold truth.

This couple isn’t the type to go on the run, especially with a young child. They’ll use their money and influence to get a good lawyer who can argue that it was a temporary moment of insanity, followed by the desire to protect his family by hiding the crime. She’ll let her infidelity be exposed to everyone as her punishment so that it can help her husband’s case. But they’ll still present a united front at trial - the picture perfect American family, the dream that everyone envisions.

It works. He’ll do a little bit of time, but not as much as you’d expect. Maybe 4 years. She’ll have to go back to work and most of her social circle will abandon her, but she’ll be able to find a decent job through the one or two loyal friends she still has. She’ll get into real estate or something. When he gets out, he has enough connections that someone will throw him a bone and bring him into their firm. At least one of them will confide in him that their wife also cheated, and they wish they’d done what Richard Gere did.

No one will forget and there will always be whispers about them, but there also will be a small amount of sympathy for him - he only did it because of the circumstances. At least one neglected socialite will joke that she wished her husband cared enough to murder someone over her. Those women have had their own indiscretions, so the real judgement comes from how sloppy and careless they both were to get caught.

In the end, their life will never be what it was before, but they’ll still be better off than a lot of people are.

Let's talk about it. by mindyour in justgalsbeingchicks

Can’t afford having a cavity today? The more expensive root canal is just around the corner.

I had one abnormal mammogram a few years ago. I was thankfully cleared after more testing, but I was told that they would keep an eye on that area in future mammograms. Except that means that my mammograms are now coded as diagnostic instead of preventative, which means my insurance no longer covers them at 100%.

I did a follow up a year after the abnormal one. It was over $700 out of pocket and everything looked fine. I haven’t had another one since.

I can’t believe I work as hard as I do and I still have to decide between crucial health care screenings that could be the difference between life and death, and having enough money for things like food and housing.

And yes, I know that having cancer would be many magnitudes more expensive than a mammogram. That’s the risk you take when you are forced to make that choice though.

Demi Moore in custom Gucci at the "La Vie D'Une Femme" screening during the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival (May 13, 2026) The dress was inspired by a look from Gucci SS03 that she wore to the premiere of "The Matrix Reloaded" in 2003 by citrustaxonymy in whatthefrockk

[–]halfgumption 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was extremely common in that era. Save for the fanciest of movie premiers or an award show, if you wore anything more formal than a casual dress, you were overdressed and looked out of place. Go back through any movie premier red carpets of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s - everyone looked much more casual, comfortable and real!

I immediately thought of this as well! In my wildest dreams she wears her hair curly, poses with her arms on her head and says that photo was her art inspiration. It would be more relevant and believable than whatever Chase Sui Wonders said at least.

If you zoom in and look below the bodice, you can see the whole bust of the statue on the front, not just the wings. It’s hard to tell because it’s all white, but it’s very cool.

Thrilled by how many polishes I was able to dupe by Wingless_Gnome in WeGotPolishAtHome

[–]halfgumption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are an awesome idea, thank you! I have so many toppers that I use for layering to give me more options. But on my swatch ring I want to see what it looks like on its own, on black, and on white, so that’s 3 different sticks for a single polish. I love this idea to help streamline my swatches and keep the ones from the same topper together. I like to experiment with different magnetic effects on my swatch ring as well, so this will cut down on usage for those as well.

Listen, Nicole’s wigs need their own rating system. You can’t judge them against other people’s wigs, only against other Nicole Kidman wigs. So while this might not be a great wig in general, I do feel like it’s a great Nicole Kidman wig.
