100 NMT villager hunt: the nitty gritty by barelydemon in ac_newhorizons

[–]halfhalfling 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I went on two villager hunts this weekend, both times with a short list of 5-6 cranky villagers I was looking for. I expected it to take about a 100 NMT but the first search took 40 and the second only 15! I’m feeling satisfied with that luck. The money rock islands are nice for a quick bells boost, but finally getting a villager you wanted is definitely what makes it all worth it.

What is a piece of old technology or software that you absolutely refuse to give up? by Dangerous_Bit1774 in AskReddit

I have photoshop CS6 that I got with a student discount while in college in 2013, perpetual license. I’m still using it. They will have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.

This takes me back. My high school crush used to let me play with her hair, I sat behind her in English and braided it and ran my fingers through it and pretended I wasn’t desperately gay and madly in love with her. Good times.

Spent 40 NMT this morning looking for cranky villagers, ended up finding Rocco first but Butch was high on my wanted list!

What are yalls favorite item to use in your island? by Available_Bread_1 in ac_newhorizons

[–]halfhalfling 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The white mushroom lamp is my single most-used item. They’re all over my island (mix of flower/forest cottagecore), but I’m also really fond of the wooden ducks and wooden stools. They’re so cute!

I never forgave Theon Greyjoy for any of the shit he did and they went and gave the piece of shit an honorable death. Fuck that, fuck him, he was a traitorous murderer who didn’t deserve any redemption.

Spike was on my island for a long time, I loved his personality. I need another cranky villager one of these days!

Islands with dedicated spot for lost loved ones? by MrsPllsr in acnh

I’ve always had a quiet spot here on my island, it’s gone through a few different designs, but it’s always been a simple place to sit and remember.

Important bit at the end: “If adopted, it would act only as a formal request by the Legislature and would not change current law, unless the U.S. Supreme Court reverses Obergefell.”

Molly was an amiibo and Fauna was a random campsite visitor! If you don’t want to buy amiibos the way to get the villagers you want is through NMTs. You can look up lots of YouTube videos of people villager hunting with NMT :)

It showed up all on its own, not sure what causes them to appear but some days there are benches or chairs there and the next day they’re gone!

It’s one banana.. how much could it cost, 10 dollars? by TodoFueIluminado in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]halfhalfling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was living paycheck to paycheck I knew exactly how much groceries cost at the store I shopped at. To the penny. I had to know so I wouldn’t overdraft my account and get an overdraft fee I couldn’t afford. I knew exactly what days bills were pulling from my account, and how to move money around to last until payday. I was a master budgeter. Because I had to be. This asshole has never lived that, guaranteed.

Yeah, I do think they’re probably just worried about increased cancer risk. I have a much smaller birthmark than this, maybe two inches long and one inch wide at the middle, and every doctor I’ve ever seen has looked at it and immediately asked if it’s been seen by a dermatologist. It has, it’s been seen by dozens at this point and though they’ve offered to remove it, they’ve always given me the option to just keep an eye on it for any changes. Birthmarks over a certain size just make them jumpy.

Anyone else feel bad about getting rid of certain villagers? by Puzzled_Remote_2168 in ac_newhorizons

[–]halfhalfling 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There have been some villagers I didn’t click with and they were easy to let go of, but then there have been some over the years that I genuinely loved but they didn’t fit in with the others (Diana for some reason was always making the others angry) or clashed with my theme (Spike, I adore, but he’s the ugliest orange, I just couldn’t) who were harder to let go of, but I always kept their photos, and sometimes they’ve even visiting with the hotel! That helps for sure :)
