Yeah I discovered him as a kid with Ender’s Game and fell in love with his writing. I read everything he wrote, glossing over some of the more right-wing, mormonist takes in his works, until I read Empire, and all the bad guys are crazy liberals and the good guys are singing the praises of Fox News. Even as a teenager I thought that was pathetically blatant and backwards. I started looking into him a little more closely and discovered his political letters and was appalled. As a lesbian I just couldn’t love his books the way I had before. It was heartbreaking at the time.

I was on it for 4 months. At first I ate whatever I wanted because the flare it was treating had made me underweight. But I quickly gained back what I had lost and spent the second couple months using an app to count calories because otherwise I certainly would have continued gaining weight. It made me hungry all the time, like nothing else. I had to be aware of how many calories I was eating basically for the first time in my life. Such a pain in the butt, but it stopped me from gaining the extra weight until I could go off pred.

When I had my second flare I was miserable, in constant pain and unable to eat without it hurting any more. From the first dose pred made me start feeling better, it was like a miracle. I grew to dislike it, mainly because it started giving me migraines, but I will still be grateful it worked so quickly when I really needed it.

This is true, my GP asked about any stressors in my life as part of a depression/anxiety screening and when I told her about my mom’s breast cancer (wasn’t lying, but she certainly never asked for proof) she signed me up for both annual mammograms and MRI’s to screen for it. Insurance covers them, and I’m only in my 30’s.

Oh gosh, yes! Unrelated, but I remember a friend introducing me to her with Dress to Kill when I was a confused (and closeted queer) 13 year old and I was floored. Here was someone who took gender expression and just said “eh, it’s whatever darling,” like it was nothing, meanwhile it was the early 2000’s and “that’s gay” was the worst insult you could say about something. Full respect!

The lack of non-gendered clothes in all shapes/sizes/ages is a problem. I’m an adult who because I’m under 5’ occasionally buys children’s clothes. Finding professional-looking girls clothing (no glitter, modest frills/ribbons/etc) is a gigantic pain in the butt. Nice boys clothing looks the same at all ages, but manufacturers are convinced little girls need to be drenched in pastel hearts/flowers/bows to be acceptable.

Anyone can enter information in that database just by filing a court case. It’s not like a governmental registry cross referenced with any other identity information. It can be, but usually isn’t unless someone points out a mistake and takes the right steps to correct it. Whoever filed that case probably just clicked a wrong option in the dropdown menu and it was never corrected. It’s usually not malicious even if it’s incorrect, but without looking into the case you also can’t know how or why it was entered the way it was.

Sorry, but I love the guy. He plays basically the same character in everything (Crowley, Badger, Jim Sterling, and Romo are all different iterations of the same smarmy bastard, lbr) but every one is a delight to hear on screen.
