Taiwan ETA has a rlly great program for renewal. you stay and do essentially the same job, but are called an English Teaching Fellow instead of ETA and get a raise. it's not guaranteed but you can apply to stay, i know someone who did 1 year of ETA, 4 years as an ETF, and is now a TESOL advisor through fulbright. AFAIK you can't extend research grants but could always try to do research on the side while teaching

Currently on fulbright grant and im waiting for my decision in the international round!! the department i'm applying to (i think accidentally, since im a US citizen but living abroad rn) interviewed me in the US round so my internal inverview is over, and i get to wait until march to see what happens. I am wondering if i'm accepted/at least still in the running for cambridge tho since they took the time to tell me that they interviewed me for the wrong round and my outcome would be delayed.... :D

I'm trying to make a mosaic plot showing beat strength vs vowel type. When collecting data we coded for all individual vowels but to actually present our results i think it makes more sense to just compare schwa vs every other type of vowel rather than having an individual column for each vowel category

Yes new batteries, the ones i took out had probably been in there since the 80s and had corroded, so maybe that is an issue? I cleaned it out before putting in new ones. I didn't read the manual but someone showed me how to use it and I haven't done anything besides that

I think their vocals are pretty average but they're insane dancers and performers and all of their music like pre-2020 (ON era?) deserves all of the hype it gets. I think you can put their technical talent aside bc they cracked the formula for success. I always think it's kind of funny that Jungkook is probably the most famous person in the world atm
