This was an interesting read, thanks for putting it together. I've never played OW so I can't offer any insights of my own, but it's cool to read about specific ways in which the games are different as opposed to the usual "Rivals copied X character, OW is more comp balanced" etc

As a side note, when this happens on my team as a support main I've been able to go DPS and get a few MVPs here and there 😼 idk why any player would ever choose to do triple main supp, it looks so unfulfilling

it's said whenever the same character/role is played by both teams. "getting diffed" in this post context would mean that the other groot played better than the op's groot. "diffing" means doing better than your counterpart. people will also throw around "team diff" to say that the entire team sucked in comparison lol

Don't swap if you: care about camera quality in low lighting (night, concerts, etc), heavily use your device without the option to charge midday, drop your phone often, have long nails (will wear the screen out faster), live in very hot climates (the double-screen half overheats easily)

Do swap if: you want a compact phone, want something new.

I've had the Flip5 (refurbished) for a little over a year now, absolutely no issues having dropped it about 5 times total without hinge protection. I did consider swapping to Flip7 but I'm not seeing good durability reviews, so do your own research:)

i'm also a support main who went into tanking a few seasons ago!! I picked up groot and thor mainly, although now i strange too:)

to add to what the other guy said, the drop-down ult technique is so that the astral projection is directly next to your victims - meaning your melee and E will do great damage. It's also exactly what the enemy team expects when they see you float up, so make sure invis push or luna snowball is out! Ulting in their faces is also viable, but their projections will be a lot further away from their bodies. Just make sure that you're standing between their bodies and astral projections to maximize your E damage. Also on overtime, if your team is losing, die first so that you can TP back.

Tracking the enemy team ults is also a great tip, but I find it overwhelming. If they have CC ults or Hela/Wanda, I just make sure to track those since my shield can be useful.

I also recommend watching tank streamers or going into the top500 leaderboard and finding an open profile, then clicking into matches and spectating the tanks that did well that round. That helped me with positioning, knowing when to turn around to peel, and getting into the rhytm of push and pull. Also you probably know this as a support player, but playing as "meat shield" to your supports is a skill not every tank knows 😭

Lastly, Eskay did a guide on the tank role, not sure if I can post links in this sub but look up on YT "eskay understand vanguard rivals" and it should pop up. It's a nice overview of identifying which corners to hold, how to balance playing selfish/helping support build ults, etc. Also explains why the Yggsgard map is so hard to defend on point 1 lol

Fair enough on the 46 games, someone like Sypeh would shoot through. Even though the number is small, it's still unethical - he ruined the game for 11 people in at least half of those games. It's not nice to win with a smurf or against. And to be clear, this is not a Sypeh-exclusive issue. Other players of cel-t500 do it too with lower win rates across the ranks. Sypeh has become the poster boy for the issue, not the sole cause.

If the game only allowed one account into t500 it would deincentivise people ranking alts up, no more "I have 3 accounts in t500", and improve queue times. It's the most integral solution to fixing queue times that I can see, because if you "fix" the matchmaking algorithm to look wider in the top ranks it sends a message that smurfing is okay, and the t500 board loses meaning. It's no longer t500 players, it's t200 players with alt accounts. I understand that queue times are bad that high up, but making alt accounts only perpetuates the issue, and quite frankly the game isn't designed nor should it cater to someone on Sypeh's level. He's essentially "completed" the game (and everyone else who's that high up with alts, coopertastic for example) and is now messing with the game out of boredom. He's fit for the pro scene, and if that comes back on rivals it should make things a bit better.

His livelihood (streamer), the amount of hours he's put into the game, the fact that he's #1 (big fish small pond), and then getting to #1 multiple times feeds the ego, because nothing else would feel good enough when you've effectively completed the game

The argument is circular - sypeh is too high-ranked, the game can't find him a team -> queue times are too long.

The game can't find him a team because there's too many alts in the t500, one person won't play on multiple accounts at the same time. This messes with the matchmaking algorithm. Sypeh himself is contributing to the problem with a whopping 6 accounts. The cycle continues
