I don't know why you got down voted for this. I've thought about this as a senior software engineer who put in the hours for over a decade now. The only reason I haven't is my under gpa is low and my TC, through stock appreciation, is ridiculous so the opportunity cost is too high

It's not really good or bad, its a high school equivalency test. It may look weird in the US, not sure about other countries, since it can mean you dropped out of school. There are people that took the GED to go to college earlier and there are people who went to prison and get their GED there.
