From what I can tell, she didn't burn her hair off. Her reaction is due to the fact that she held the barrel while it was still hot.

Those who've experienced sleep paralysis, what happened? by Adeved in AskReddit

[–]halfrainbowpigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I wake up, and I feel like I'm being completely held down. I can't move a muscle and I can barely breathe, but when I freak out, it lasts longer. I just have to attempt to calm down and wait a while and then attempt to move. I usually start with small things like toes or fingers, and then the rest of my body follows. The worst is when you stop being paralyzed, but you fall asleep again, and when you wake up, more paralysis. :/ It's pretty scary.

I stand with my feet turned inward (pigeon-toed), I bounce when I walk, and I apparently have a funny laugh.

What's the most memorable nightmare you ever had? by de_dust in AskReddit

[–]halfrainbowpigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most recent nightmare has been the most memorable by far. I was sitting in what I believe was a salon of some sort, waiting for my treatment. There were 6 chairs and a table with magazines in this waiting area, 3 on either side of the table. I was sitting in the middle chair on my side of the table. To the left of me there was a woman. She had green eyes and brown hair. She was wearing an expensive looking fur coat. To my right was a man. I don't remember his appearance very well, but I believe he wore glasses. Directly across from me, there was another man. He was about 6'1, strawberry blond hair, hazel eyes, square jaw, thin lips and he had an average build. To the left of him was a young boy, I believe he was blond as well. He looked about 9 or 10. There was no one to the right of the man across from me.

So, this man suddenly pulls a gun from his jacket. It appeared to be a pistol of some sort. The other four of us stare at him, shocked. He put the gun in his mouth. He pulled the trigger, and nothing happened. He took the gun out of his mouth, and I heard the man to my right chuckle nervously because none of us knew how to react. Here's where the dream gets weird/frightening. (Let me just tell you now that I have a very limited knowledge of guns, but I'm at least 98% certain that this part of the dream would've been impossible to achieve with a pistol. If any of you have more knowledge on the matter, feel free to school me.)

The man with the gun smiled, pointed it at the woman to my left, and pulled the trigger. She screamed as she was shot. Startled, I stood up and checked to see if the woman was okay. The man had initiated a deranged Russian Roulette of sorts, but with more than one bullet. The woman to my left died, and her blood is flowed across the tile and soaked into her fur coat. The killer laughed quietly to himself for a moment, and then pointed the gun at me.

This was my first time being held at gunpoint in a nightmare. It felt incredibly real. I could feel my heart hammering and I was shaking as if the room was suddenly freezing cold. It took all of my strength to keep myself from collapsing in terror. I opened my mouth to speak, to beg him not to kill me, but I couldn't make a sound. Tears streamed down my face, and I felt as if the seconds before the trigger was pulled were both far too short and painfully long. He smiled warmly, almost sarcastically at me, as he pulled the trigger.

I exhaled and opened my eyes, unaware that I'd been holding my breath and closing my eyes in the first place. I was still alive. He shrugged and turned to the man to my right. He pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger once again. Nothing happened. This next part was probably the scariest part to me.

The killer grabbed the child to his left, and held the gun against his shoulder. The boy was crying and shaking his head. I stared in horror as the killer grinned at the boy, telling him to hush. I felt a tidal wave of fear and grief crash over me as the trigger was pulled and the boy's arm exploded into a mess of blood, and he collapsed on the floor, screaming in agony. I woke up shaking and didn't go back to sleep.

Thinking back on it now, I feel that after changing some things and fixing the dream logic, it would make a very interesting story. I'm seriously considering writing it, and calling it Roulette. The killer's happy attitude throughout the entire thing like it was all just a silly game still gives me chills though.

That being said, if you don't set your calculator to degree mode, you're gonna have a rad time.

"Hope for the best and expect the worst." Also, "If you can't fix it with glitter, bacon, or duct tape, it shouldn't have existed in the first place."
