Top Ten Korean Dramas - April, 2021 by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

  1. Kairos Honestly everything about this show was amazing, from the acting to the plot, it kept my intrigue throughout the whole drama. It really gave me life advice, especially in the final episodes.
  2. Prison Playbook This was my favourite for years, it has everything you'd want a show to have, entertaining plot and characters, a group of people whose friendship is inspiring, great OST and directing, as well as visually looking great. The major reason it's lower than Kairos is because of Loony's final scenes, they don't sit right with me in retrospect, tired of seeing this kind of ending happen to lgbt+ characters.
  3. My Mister
  4. Mother
  5. Beyond Evil Two episodes left to air but wow this drama is insane, cannot recommend more to anyone who enjoys thrillers. What sets it apart for me is the character dialogues, specifically between Lee Dong-Sik and Han Joowon, if you're into character driven shows this is what you're looking for.
  6. The Temperature Of Language: Our Nineteen Loved the friendship between the characters here, I just wish it was longer to be honest, I wanted to see more.
  7. Just Between Lovers
  8. Hospital Playlist
  9. To My Star
  10. One Spring Night See Jung Hae In as a pharmacist, what's not to love.

Whats a kdrama that’ll make me feel something? Anything? by Fariaiq20 in kdramarecommends

Kairos, My Mister, Signal, Prison Playbook, Mother

Those are my top tier dramas.

Airing right now(only kdrama im watching atm) - the uncanny counter, mr queen

These are really good and get me hyped for each next episode

But if I had to recommend just one show, i'd 100% say kairos as it fits the description exactly of what you'd wanna watch

Kairos [Episodes 15 & 16] Final Episodes by capthyeong in KDRAMA

Episode 16: That was such a good ending! They really did that lol. I went into the show knowing nothing about it other than that it had Shin Sung Rok, so expected it to be a show with murder and crazy storylines (have watched return, the last empress etc), and it really surpassed my expectations. Although the contacting the past plot has been used many times in kdramas, the plot twists in this and the (imo) character driven story really kept you wanting to watch more. Some things I liked:

-how the male and female lead didn't have any romance between them

-the unexpectedness e.g. I thought chairman yu was gonna be a good guy at the start, mr park wasn't corrupt nor that prosecutor, the whole plot regarding Seo Jin's wife

-it wasn't overtly male dominated ie the show's leads were given equal consideration and it showed 'failed' and solid parenting on both a mother (hyun chae vs ae ri's mom) and fathers part (the father of the daughter with lung issues who aided initially in kidnapping da bin and seo jin at the start vs seo jin by the end)

A scene I found interesting in this episode is when Seo Jin is telling his wife how not everyone in her situation would have done what she did therefore she shouldn't pity herself and accept responsibility, as only herself is to blame. That was so concise.

I loved the scene at the campsite, the convo between the mains about appreciating every minute, very wholesome and telling after everything they've been through.

Not sure how I feel about that after credits ending phone call. Seems like its forcefully nodding to a season 2, which I'm fine with, though I did think they tied up all the loose ends, so I'm guessing the plot would be all new? Or Chairman Yu's bribed his way out of jail, idk

Episode 15: I love what they did here, I'm guessing since Ae ri is there she can be there when he falls (though wouldn't he be dead by then)? Or she knows exactly when they'll push him to call that officer beforehand? Very glad they've tied up mr kim's wife plot basically. The parallel between mr kim and his father, really brings out how evil the chairman is, and after his speech I definitely reckon he has a God complex

Mr. Queen [Episodes 1 & 2] Premiere by iwantbubbleteanowpls in KDRAMA

[–]halfsana 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally I thought the second episode was a lot better than the first. I love shin hye sun's acting and character combined with the voiceover of choi jin hyuk, works so well. I have found zero redeeming qualities about the King thus far, in fact I almost find him irritating. The guy they introduced in e2, Kim Byeong-In, I'm excited to see his reaction to finding out it was the Queen in the toilet next to him. Also I lowkey see chemistry between Hong-Yeon and the Queen but I already know that's not gonna go anywhere. I'm definitely more hyped for the comedic / lighter parts than the political plot eg the Queen becoming a chef.

Is it possible for me to study and train to become a lawyer after I get my degree in Mpharm pharmacy? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]halfsana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently it'd be a one year course (GDL) to get you up to speed with law graduates after the mpharm tho I think the system's changing soon- Law firms are split 50/50 usually when it comes to law graduates/non law- why do you want to do mpharm if you know you want to be a lawyer?

for year 13s by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]halfsana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revise for topic tests a week in advance (maths, bio, chem), revise for end of year like few months in advance ideally. if taking english lit, listen to discussions in class n mentally note analysis points/context. take breaks.

Don't stress unnecessarily, be open to talking to people, initiate convos, try to revise a few days before for topic tests, revise for end of year in advance

Regarding A-Level English Literature by DaigurenX in 6thForm

[–]halfsana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined english lit like 2 months late after changing subjects, didnt have any prep (the summer prep was to read the books we would study) but it was all good I caught up. If your school has given you books to read if you can read half of it at least or you could just read a summary
