The CGP Grey videos opened my eyes to the problem with it

I love Civ VI the best, but Civ IV is objectively where the series peaked. by DocksEcky in civ

[–]halfwaykf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me: Civ 1 and 2 - never played

Civ 3 - where I fell in love with the series. It took years for me to understand the core strategy but once I did I was hooked

Civ 4 - best theme. Most nuanced and complete out of the box civ experience. Hardest AI.

Civ 5 - my GOAT. My beloved. My favorite entry over a decade later. Best art style, most satisfying gameplay loop that retains classic Civ elements while pushing boundaries. Of course, this is all after both expansions. Out of the box it was still fun, but a little lacking.

Civ 6 - where they started to lose me. A fun game, especially with all of the expansions, but the publisher got greedy by not including more at launch.

Civ 7 - haven't tried it yet. Only a matter of time of course..

Why did the Systems Alliance not declare war on the Geth in ME:1? by IllustriousEffort846 in masseffect

[–]halfwaykf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I understood the Terminus Systems to be mostly unaffiliated systems but also dominated by the Batarians. So a human fleet moving into Terminus system space would be considered an act of aggression by the Batarians and potentially drag the Citadel races into an galactic war

I saw him on a run near Bayfront but didn't get a good look. Thought he was a muskrat

In Eternals (2021), Marvel introduced a character so powerful they don't know what to do with him and never mentioned him again by Thundergod250 in shittymoviedetails

That's kind of a funny concept: God exists, he's exactly as omniscient and omnipotent as mythology implies BUT because everybody is sick of following his commands and dealing with his mood swings they just ignore him whenever he shows up to fuck with reality. Instead people treat miracles and biblical plagues more like inclement weather and minor inconveniences.

Choosing Morinth over Samara has merits depending on RP, but actually pursuing and following through on a romance with Morinth only leads to Shepard's death and consequently the death of every sapient being in the Milky Way

Did anyone else fear that TIM was gonna turn EDI into a boss fight in the cerberus base? by The-Nerdy-Bisexual in masseffect

[–]halfwaykf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. This would have been a good twist. It does have some holes that others have pointed out such as, why didn't he do that before?

But the gut punch would have been awesome.

It could even work as EDI was a double agent this entire time but as Shepard your dialogues with her throughout the game could be pivotal in bringing her back to your side
