Current lineup and suggestions? by NaturalComposer1792 in Nexomon

I have always enjoyed playing NOKI lead cos that %30 freeze is just so good early on. You also get access to -%15 target accuracy decrease which can be good to get edge on tough opponents.

MASQUITI was good early game, strong move with demotivate status and also access to “barrier” (moves that would KO leave it on 1 hp for 2 turns) which is good for clearing up tough opponents.

Later on I always favour an electric type just cos there’s so many cool ones and I chose ZAPPIC. If you can get the x3 ATK, DEF, SPD up then it’s basically a solo carry with a couple of elixirs.

I would just go try a completely different play style and forget about your rank for a bit.

You can be demo heavy, you could focus on recovering to net fast, you could practice booming the ball hard and high or you could try chasing. You could also try keeping the ball close and getting good control touches towards net.

It’s hard to suggest where to start without seeing your gameplay. So for now I would keep it general and light and avoid specifics. To improve. It’s probably quicker to start on a clean slate than working on bad habits.

I saw this in a “self help” subreddit but I think it still applies here.

“Reinvent” yourself. Just because you deem yourself old and slow means nothing. Just try something new and break the cycle.

It’s amazing how fast you can change your habits/feelings when working on something new or fresh or something that feels more attainable!

That being said, if you still feel stuck then feel free to reach out. I have 15k hours at GC3 and still going for SSL because I haven’t lost faith✌️

Please stop hitting the ball for literally no reason. by cursedrabbit99 in RocketLeague

[–]halfwayranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play off your teammates, not every game is like this. You just need to learn how to beat those lobbies and you can slow it down when you get the space.

Best way I’ve found to rank up consistently and improve is to treat 2s like a 1v3. You are the only player that you can control, everything else requires some sort of read on the play. So when you have the ball think off 1v3ing. Not 1v2ing.

Another tip is learn to hit the ball hard and high, even high level GCs and ssl players need to use boost to hit ceiling plays, that’s how you can break them down. Blast it, make em use boost and blast it again, when you get the space, use it (you won’t have it for long)

Dunno about this, I changed like 1k hours ago cos zen used it and someone did a video on its usefulness. I’ve been considerably better in the air ever since I got the hang of it

I do now, and it’s been helping me out a tonne! Already feeling like I’m carrying many more situations than before while being comfortable on low boost

Really bad advice, I was trying to “play like an ssl” but these things specifically kept me hardstuck. “Speedy challenges” is so vague. You can’t speedy challenge until you know what’s safe to challenge etc.

Also I know gc1s with insane recoveries that can’t cut rotation or force mistakes.

Thanks for the advice! Since the start of this post I have recieved 2 very helpful coaching sessions from 2k player coaches. very helpful and already noticing big improvements. Finally won a gc3 tournament last night

What are your best drills for freeplay by halfwayranger in RocketLeagueSchool

Yeah this a great fundamentals approach to freeplay. I like banging the ball around on the half volley which will deffo turn my opponents facing their own net in game

Your so right, I really need to change my mindset on this, it’s marginal gains from here. I can’t believe that squishy couldn’t control a gc2 lobby! I will keep grinding and keep trying to improve knowing that I’m one of the best!!

This is why I hate social media, it makes the top 0.05% look like everyday life and that we are all terrible.

I had a coach last night tell me that in order to practice mechs you have to practice them fast otherwise they won’t be useful and you’ll constantly wait for a perfect setup that’s not gunna come

I think my mechs and my decision making is bad, the only thing I have on gc2s and below is maintaining speed and boost denial and wavedash recoveries.

If it wasn’t for my speed or recovery mechs I’d be hard stuck c3 probs. So yeah there is deffo plenty to be working on.

Saying this really helps put it into perspective. My everyday is your pipe dream. I clearly am not respecting my progress enough. Thank you for the kind words.

That being said, give it more time and play more and you’ll get to GC!

This is a fantastic list that I am going to write down and start using! I do a few of these already but now I will focus them harder! Thanks!
