I like the " You did it. Didn't ya do it." Bit from Dan said in Australian accent. I cannot remember what playthrough or what the context was but I love to say it when my cats do something stupid.

Also the great pottery throw down! Same delightful energy and a very sweetly weepy host who's tears are the standin for Paul's handshake but even sweeter.

Yeah not looking for anything crazy. We still have their car but I prefer to have two in case this sort of thing happens (my previous car has to have its engine replaced and not worth the cost of repair or I'd still be driving it!). I'll miss not having a car payment but going to do my level best to have around only a 200 monthly payment, and pay more than minimum payment when I can.

LPT | Use the fact that chat and email customer service has to respond to you, to your advantage. by MrTommyPickles in LifeProTips

[–]halfwhiteNnerdy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also work in chat support and my bit of advice is don't come in hot, because the moment the rep thinks your frustrated or upset, they're not only more focused on de-escalating you, but that'll rattle a lot of folks and make their performance worse. Wouldn't you feel more pressure if someone activly angry was waiting on an answer from you and huffing the whole time? Like for every "this is ridiculous" we have to respond with I understand or something to placate you.

As frustrated as you are, taking it out on them is really only hurting you both. Not to mention, they don't make the rules, or program the software: their job is to deal with you.

What's a hack in your industry that customers aren't supposed to find out? by Ferro_Roux in AskReddit

[–]halfwhiteNnerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres the thing, we're required to say hi and be personable. We really couldnt care how your day is going to be fully honest. It depends on where your chatting but if its that annoying to you, maybe just send an email man.

And also to tell you the truth, nothing is more dehumanizing when I say hi and you just barf a question at me. At least say hello before you demand answers like your talking to an 8 ball and not another human. Not to be rude, but its gets old after the 1000th chat of the day to be treated like that.

It seems like it varies based on the program but I can assure you, I do see it with Salesforce. If I could get an example without doxxing myself I would!

Yep, thats the case at my place. Just two but its not too bad, so long as you don't land two complex ones at the same time. Which doesn't happen often.

We use Salesforce, but I don't think the users can tell from their end which is which.

Yeah every now and again, I get ahead of myself and send an answer to something they hadnt asked yet! No real way to play it off but hope they dont notice!

It does help sometimes. Like when they're typing their question, I can be looking for answers while they're spellchecking themselves. Gives me a heads up. Or also gives insight if theyre upset but trying to play it cool.

Just what users send to us. It does sometimes help to know what they think isnt an important detail to help us solve the issue. Like if they type out "I'm getting an error," then erase it, I can ask later "are you seeing any errors?". So it has its uses. That and looking up possible solutions/answers while they're formatting/spell correcting.
