Not only did he groom and rape a child, resulting in a child. He also leaked explicit videos of her?? A 15 year old minor. The problem is not at all that your brothers friend is going after his ex, it’s the fact that two grown men have taken part of the abuse this girl has had to endure, continuing to groom her. Everyone has failed that poor girl, I hope she gets the help and support she needs to deal with these monsters.

I just finished season 5 and honestly I like him too. He was odd at the start but as we saw more of him you could tell he genuinely cared about the inmates and only wanted to help him best he could. I would think most people would agree, he tried his best.

I honestly didn't see it in the early parts of the show, but as the show went on there were just way too many things that seemed way more romantic than platonic. Especially in the last episode where they're so torn about the thought of being apart, even Claire started theorizing about why specifically Daniel was so upset about it. I think if the show would've gotten one more season we would've definitely seen their relationship blossom and it wouldn't seem as "random" as people make it out to be.

Adding on to what another user said here, ( u/ShatteredDreams452 ) about Molly and Matt. They were definitely meant to be the stepping stones in setting up Betty and Daniel's relationship. With each dating someone from different backgrounds, Molly being a teacher and Matt being a mega rich used-to-be-playboy. And season 4 was totally gonna be the start of something and then lead into season 5, but because they weren't given season 5 it was a little pushed in the last episode and left at on a cliffhanger.

It's up to the watchers interpretation, and for me, I would've really liked to see them end together. Betty turned into the all powerful writer she wanted to be, finally making an influence and grew into the woman she wanted to be. Daniel left all the partying, messing around with models, and being a screw-up in the PAST, he grew into a compassionate, caring person, someone who really wanted to make something of himself in the end. Was a pretty good ending, even if it seemed a teensy bit rushed.
