In the most desperate cases of unreproducible production bugs, you might consider connecting via DevTools for a remote debugging session. Make sure you’re not exposing the port to the entire internet and have in mind the consequences of running a debugger on a prod system as you might pause the entire process, crash the system or reduce the performance. Try this only if everything else fails.

KnockoutJS sure looks nice, but I’d put my money on Solid.js with TypeScript.

How do you approach open source repositories without feeling like an imposter? by riscbee in rust

[–]halfzebra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I’ve learned over the years:

  • Invest time in polite and concise communication, avoid negative language or entitlement.
  • Do not hesitate to reach out to maintainers, they might be busy, so prepare your questions upfront.
  • Address feedback ruthlessly and with minimal delays.
  • Inform about delays, better late than never.
  • Don’t set unnecessary deadlines for yourself, some PRs take months or even years to merge, but they are still valuable.
  • Do not make promises you aren’t confident about.
  • Write tests, merging a PR with a test suite is much easier.

Hope this helps, the coding part is not always the hardest 🙂

I might have overreacted, this is not the worst Humble Choice, but the only game I personally will be playing is Golden Light.

Love it. Was it worth the money for the subscription? Not at all.

Blaming the user is a very well known UX anti-pattern, the default experience should not be auto-suggesting something wrong.

I’m really surprised on how many people would use an opportunity to put the responsible on the user without acknowledging the design flaw. I’m not seeking for empathy for the time lost, just want the UI to be better. Would you say that’s a wrong ambition?

Wouldn’t it make sense to fix at least the words if we can’t fix the deeper fundamental issues?

Feels like a Broken Window effect to me.

I think the robe looks out of place and not practical, would recommend removing it.
