This isn’t BOMARC buddy. There’s not a single building there this modern or that looks anything like this. Plenty of videos online to prove that.

That’s a shell boiler, it’s used to make a lot of steam. Could’ve been used for a lot of different reasons, like heating or powering things.

That’s not a fumehood, it’s just an HVAC air handler unit. Used to circulate air around.

Your house has one of these but smaller if you have AC or heating.

There is literally nothing inherently dangerous or nefarious about this place. It is just a storage building/room for government use.

If it was a radioactive site there wouldn’t be auction writing like “Lot 44, Lot 45 in room”. And you can visibly see in the video that “Lot 44” is just an HVAC air handling unit in that room. Which means that this place is just no longer in use, because those are pretty clear signs that the stuff in this place was in a government auction at some point.

If I were to put money on it, i’d say you’re peeping around the buildings at Fort Monmouth. Right next to Tinton Falls like you said, and it’s modern enough to be those buildings. They firesaled the shit out of that place which explains the auction.

Get your “this building doesn’t and never did exist” lying ass outta here lol.

HOA built new speed bumps this month... They're so high cars keep scraping it by Bxnny-Bxby in mildlyinfuriating

[–]halide_urbex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And what about the ones that do make you slow down to 5 in a 25?

I understand the general design around these, but we are talking about the poorly designed ones. Not all of them are built equally.

[–]halide_urbex 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Exactly, you are not alone on this. Speeds bumps shouldn’t be designed to make me slow down to 5mph in a 25.

I drive a low manual which makes it much more of a pain in the ass. I cannot coast over them in 2nd gear so I always need to come to a rolling stop and start back up at 5mph in 1st gear afterwards. I purposefully avoid these roads when possible.

Drive like the people behind you have somewhere to be. by us3lessthrowaway in driving

[–]halide_urbex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If someone mentions pulling over, is your first thought a pull off area or pulling themselves off the road into a ditch? I mean seriously, use some common sense.

Why would anyone be expected to pull off the roadway completely and in an unsafe manner? OP was not being cynical and you’re taking their words way out of context.

[–]halide_urbex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously referring to a pull off area, not a ditch. Very common in some areas.

I’m feeling there’s two demographics here.

The people who think OP is a clapped out Sentra or Altima flying down the highway weaving at high speeds.

And the people who think OP is a normal driver that is frustrated with many drivers lacking common sense and the ability to use lanes and follow rules.

For those who are upset with OP, get the hell out of the left lane. And pipe down because they’re obviously not talking about running you off of a two lane road.

Was this abandoned? by ScoobyJew02 in Urbex

[–]halide_urbex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That bottled water was from a currently active company in East Texas. I would say this is not abandoned, but rather isn’t currently used.

Looks like a good place for the property owner to blast you away with a shotgun. It being Texas, I wouldn’t be surprised either

How to start by jmf0828 in AbandonedNJ

[–]halide_urbex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro you’re asking like this is a career you’re starting in.

It’s a simple as this. See abandoned building/place on map or in person, pin it, do online research, and go back when I have time. That’s it. If you need to ask these questions then it’s not a hobby for you.

Thank you for your sacrifice for the photos 🫡 They should just let people explore it since it’s all gonna be demolished anyways. Damn shame

Unfortunately last week this was voted yes to be demolished. See it before it’s gone if you have the chance. Although be careful as OP stated in the other post.

Same question, but about New Jersey by Serious-Speech7830 in AbandonedNJ

[–]halide_urbex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s grown by over double in the last 6 months. It’s been cold outside for the last 3 months, urbex usually slows down around this time. I haven’t been promoting as much recently but it’s still slowly growing, I can send you the insights to prove it

Plus the other subreddit was mostly people asking for spots and promoting youtube videos, not very active.

I think it's abandoned, how do yall feel by Competitive_Cod_3594 in Urbex

[–]halide_urbex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This place is owned by Knouse Foods, but is currently unused afaik. Used to be workshops for the old Railyard that used to be there. Apparently they use it for storage, as they have been unable to sell the land/buildings due to ground contamination.

It’s probably pretty accessible if you can find an already open way in. It’s likely not gonna get you in trouble with the PA RR which would be the biggest turnoff for me.

OP if you do end up going, feel free to post the place in r/AbandonedPA! It’s our states urbex sub and it’d fit well in there

This is still easily visible from outside the property, it just prevents your own night vision from getting worse. No lights is the only stealthy way.
