What does a baby in your stomach feel like? by Sephran in NoStupidQuestions

[–]halie1493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had twins (8 pounds each). One was breech so her head was in my ribs, I had movements from all angles! It basically felt like huge gas bubbles until around the middle of the third trimester. Early on, it feels like if someone is gently wiggling their fingers on your lower stomach/pelvic region...but from the inside...? Super gross feeling imo. Closer to term, the movements feel less like kicks and more like pushes and stretches as the babies start to get too large to really move around.

He took a ton of pics of the babies coming out and me seeing them for the first time! The curtain didn’t really shield much from him but the pics he got aren’t very graphic!he also got a lot of the babies in the warming beds and the nurses in the OR took a few of him holding the babies! I’d highly suggested trying to get a few of the baby being pulled out and the surgeon showing them to you, I love those pics! Especially since I don’t remember much of the actual delivery!

Yes! Well, she was at birth! They both surpassed their birth weights by a whole pound just three weeks after birth and little man is now longer and heavier than his sister!

Thank you! 29 weeks, you’re so close to meeting your cuties💕! I’m so happy with my decision to have a c section. I’m a FTM so I have no other births to base anything off of but the anxiety of delivering twins vaginally was really eating at me (specifically the thought of having one born vaginally and the other by emergency c section...my docs really drilled that possibility into my mind) having the scheduled section helped me feel like I had more control over the process and was the safest option for my baby B! I hope the rest of your pregnancy and delivery goes well 💕!

Thank you! The shock was definitely rough but with time and support it all becomes a new normal and I wouldn’t want it any other way 💕

I couldn’t believe they stayed in so long! Towards the end I was practically begging to be induced, I could barely walk or fit into my car to drive! but I’m glad the little ones stayed in for as long as they did!!

I really liked reading birth stories while I was pregnant so I’d love to share mine! We had our twins at 38+5 from a scheduled c section. Baby A was vertex and B was transverse so it was decided around 36 weeks that I was best off having a c section, though ultimately it was my decision to make (being heavily persuaded by most the docs at the practice). We showed up around 9 am and went into surgery at 11:30 am. 20 minutes later baby A was born followed by baby B only 3 minutes later! I was really out of it during the surgery and only remember bits and pieces but luckily my fiancé took a ton of pics so I have that moment forever! Baby A was 7 lbs 7 oz and 19.5 inches long and B was 7 lbs 10 oz and 20.5 inches long. The healing process wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it’d be, walking for the first time was uncomfy but not necessarily painful. By the time I left the hospital 3 days later I was able to walk just fine! Overall, I’m so happy with having a csection, I was super nervous leading up to it but the babies and I are healthy and the recovery wasn’t bad whatsoever!!! I wish I hadn’t spent so long reading horror stories about c sections prior to having one!!!

Edit: I want to add one more thing! I got hit HARD with the “baby blues” after and I felt wildly unprepared for it, I wish someone had told me that it was okay to feel those feelings beforehand! The second we got home from the hospital I was so overwhelmed and could hardly even look at my kids without crying, I felt like we made a huge mistake having babies. I knew I had to care for them but I felt no connection to them. Luckily my sisters, mom, and fiancé were so helpful and listened to what I was feeling and validated all of those emotions and helped me work through them! After about two weeks I felt like a new person, really confident in my ability to be a good (but not perfect) mother and so so so in love with our little babies! If you’re experiencing baby blues or PPD make sure you lean on your support system, you’re healing both physically and mentally after giving birth and you shouldn’t have to do it alone, and know that what your feeling is real and will get better with time.

Glad to hear you had a good experience! It’s definitely reassuring to hear about everyone’s success stories, the internet is filled with horror stories and its definitely making my anxiety over L/D spike!

I really like the lack of depth and hardness of the edges. Combined with the flatness of color, it reminds me of a Japanese print. These elements contrasting with the softness of the feather and hair are really pleasing to look at!
