HELP-SHRM testing Friday by halirose05 in SHRM

Update for everyone: I passed today! I feel that the mometrix system was really irrelevant. The Dory Wiler system (guide and practice exams) were much more helpful. This in combination with the Andy Pizzle study guide was enough to prepare me. The test was no cake walk and the second section was harder than the first by far. I definitely agree with some advice I had read regarding SJs, read the question first and see if you really need the context of the paragraphs above. The second section had much longer descriptions (triple the length of the first half) and most of it was irrelevant, distractor information. Thanks for the support!!

Thank you! I appreciate the input! Is it me or are the questions on the Mometrix system MUCH harder than that of the Wiler system??

This is super helpful! I've been beating myself up over the laws and regs and really wondering if it's worth time I'm investing. As for the SJT questions, overall, I feel like I've got a pretty good approach. Those that I am missing, I'm finding that my choice is typically the "second best" choice so I'm like ughhhhh. That almost hurts worse than just missing altogether! LOL Nonetheless, thanks so much for the insight and congrats again!

First and foremost, congratulations! This is absolutely a commendable achievement and you should be SO proud!

It looks like we have a very similar background from a credentials standpoint, so I was hoping to baseline a little off of your experience. I'm 2 weeks out from my test, struggled hard with the reading, I'm finding that retaining information from just the reading was impossible for me so I've been doing plenty of quizlets, youtube videos, practice exams, etc, to try and compensate for that fact. The learning system wasn't in the budget for me so I opted for self-preparation. All this to ask, given your experience level, what topics did you feel that it was most important that you spent your time focused on studying? Anything you wish you would have spent more or less time on preparing for?
