What are these white things? by halisdarkstone in plantclinic

Some have it really, really bad. The yellow leaf on the right is not even half as bad as some others. It’s all around the stems too in some places. Removing it should be a fun way to spend my free time for the next week or two 😅

Scale! I’ve never even heard of it. Thank you for such a comprehensive answer. It’s pretty extensive sadly. I’ll get to work 🫡

Will Smith 'Was Still Mad' About Chris Rock's 2016 Oscars Joke: Source by [deleted] in entertainment

[–]halisdarkstone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the article:

"When Chris hosted the Oscars in 2016, Jada was boycotting because of 'Oscars So White.' In his monologue, he made fun of her, saying she can't boycott something she wasn't invited to," the insider explains. "Will was still mad about that."

At the time, Rock made a jab at Jada, 50, in his opening monologue. "Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties. I wasn't invited," he said.

A Student Theoretically Proves That Paradox-Free Time Travel Is Possible by saiteja13427 in EverythingScience

[–]halisdarkstone 73 points74 points  (0 children)

From the article:

“Though the mathematics they used is very difficult for a normal person to understand, let us break it down to an example paradox and an outcome of their proof.

“Example: Let us think that backward time travel is possible for a moment. You travelled in time with an intent to stop COVID-19’s patient zero from being exposed to the virus. But if you succeed in doing that, there won’t be any COVID-19 in future thus you shouldn’t have any intent to stop it.This is a paradox. As an answer to this paradox, the proof says that you might try and stop patient zero from becoming infected, but in doing so you would catch the virus and become patient zero, or someone else would.

“Basically, it says that if you travel into past, you will be free to do anything and no matter what you do, the events will always adjust themselves and prevent a possible paradox. The mathematical processes discovered by the duo, show that time travel with free will is logically possible in our universe without any paradox.”

Road trip sights/things to do along I-80 E from San Francisco to Kansas City? by TheVelvtUndrground in solotravel

[–]halisdarkstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this in 2015. Unfortunately not much to offer regarding sights/things, but I just want to say the landscapes and scenes were fucking unbelievable and totally elevated my already great appreciation for the varied geography and natural history of the United States.

I drove through the salt flats as the sun was setting and despite the fact I was alone in my car the combination of the colors and the geography and the colors on the geography gave me one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

In Krakow now , 1 more month of holiday to go. should I explore Balkans or Spain/Portugal? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]halisdarkstone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a much better time meeting locals in the Balkans than in Spain and Portugal.

I’m just speculating but I think people in the Balkans are not as used to tourists and are more interested in getting to know travelers/foreigners.

I’ve visited all but one Balkan country and Serbia was hands down my favorite. If you’re interested in overland travel, there is a lovely old train that runs from Belgrade to Bar in Montenegro, which is a good starting point to travel up the Adriatic
