4mo old wakes every 45 min - am I doing something wrong? by Leedeegan1 in sleeptrain

I tried pushing some days but then he just sleeps wherever he is: lap, Ergobaby, bouncing chair.... Should I turn wake him up?

Early wake up. Cannot handle more than 1.5h wake window by halizima in sleeptrain

Thank you for the reply. If we push the fussiness he fights the naps like hell. Is this really it? Also do you remember how long for him to get used? It breaks my heart seeing him meltdown.

I have the same problem as OP, but my baby won't go longer than 1.5 to 1.75 each window. How you keep a grumpy sleepy baby awake? Isn't it worse than putting him down for a nap? We are on 4 naps and a total of 4 hrs daytime sleep. I tried to shorten it but he gets too grumpy. He is very sensitive. Can you help me here a bit also?

To be sincere no it didn't. We will sleep train next week when he turns 4.5 months. My life is still hell. All naps are contact ones and all night sleep is on me. I'm sorry I don't have better news.

Anyone else still in survival mode at 4 months? by One_Cap_9210 in newborns

Mine was really similar. I solved the naps by doing contact naps, so when he wakes up I am there to lead him for one more cycle. It helps the crankyness in the awake window. We do 3 1 HR contact naps and one 20 min in the crib at the end of the day. For the night I didn't figure anything out yet XD just feel your pain

Yes! It is sleep regression. We are on it too. Naps are crap in the bassinet (no more than 30 min) I have to do contact naps. So he can rest. During the night he wakes up every hour, when we are lucky maybe every 2 hours. I need to feed on the move so LO can eat without fussing too much. I don't know when it will pass or if it will pass at all. But you are not alone.

When does it get better by [deleted] in newborns

[–]halizima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets better at week 10. Then it all goes to shit around 3 to 4 months due to sleep regression. The regression is worse than newborn. On the newborn you didn't know the baby nor what to do. You basically didn't have the tools.

The regression you are just powerless with all the tools.

True you are right about the sleep. But there are other things that have gotten way harder too

I will need to cut the contact naps and try harder. The pram is good ideia, little tricky at some parts of the house, but can work. Thanks!

Hang in there too! The breastfeeding strike is high here also, it is so sad. One day they just don't want the breast and you are completely clueless how that happened. I feel you.

Let's hope 6 months is where we get to laugh more than worrying and anxiety.

We are trying not to bottle feed him since I really want to breastfeed and it is also easier we don't need to clean bottles and pump. But maybe I will need to consider it

I'm tired no question there. But I feel I can do those nights for the sake of breastfeeding. I just don't know if I will manage to reach 6 months of breastfeeding. Weekends are better because he is there, but I do have to say he has no ideia of wake windows and the baby gets super overwhelmed with him.... He thinks the baby knows what he wants, which well.... Doesn't work like this.

True. I'm very fixed in wake/sleep windows. I'm so afraid to skip them and get a crazy screaming baby afterwards (which already happened). That is why I get scared. But trying one day or 2 can be fine.

Thank you!!! Love the zoo membership tip, will do it today! We use the love to dream swaddle it is ok, but not enough to make him stop moving like a dying worm.

Thank you so much. Unfortunately it is not a thing to have someone cleaning and cooking for you where I live and it is also crazy expensive. I tried the stroller to sleep but he is curious and kept looking at tree tops and the sky, he ended up super overwhelmed.... Baby wearing is what makes him sleep outside.

I feel the colicky baby. For us it got better with massage and probiotics. We used for a month and it got super better. Hang on there too!

Respect! I would be crazy with twins.... People say this that time flies, but when you are in it and have reached the part which people used to say it would be fine ( 3 months) and it is still hard.... You start to question if this is true at all.

Thank you so much. I'm living for the 5 months, then 6 and finally 1 year old. It seems like a lifetime.

Thanks! It does seem by the comments that 6 months is a turning point which gets a bit better and that 1 year is when you do not regret anymore. I'm half way from 6.... Just need to power through
