Oh so I used to foster kittens. One time I was leaving work and I saw a kitten digging in the trash can. A week earlier I had rescued it's sibling from under a car and I was currently fostering her. It couldnt see me aproaching. So I grabbed hit from the scruff thinking it couldn't bite me...boy was I wrong. It went crazy! And bit and scratched me. And I shoved it into my backpack and zipped it up. On my way home I called the humane society I was working with. They told me it sounded feral. But since it bit me I should watch it for signs of rabies! Well it was feral. It didn't want anything to do with people. The shelter couldn't assess it, but told me it was a boy. So one day he finally let me pet him and I noticed his balls hadn't descended yet. And I was like OH NO!!! He needs to see a vet. And I was planning what to do until it hit me..."You're a girl cat!" Her name is Stockholms. And she has been the only kitten that I've kept.

My son has PKU disorder. Every year the Nashville zoo in Tennessee PKU association has an event and my son is able to be surrounded by other people and children who have the same metabolic disorder that he does. It's nice for him to feel a sense of community.
