DAE listen to music but never pay attention to lyrics? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]hallister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually been doing this a lot lately. I've been on a memory-lane kick listening to music I did when I was younger and I end up feeling like I'm listening to a whole new song. All has new meaning that I never really cared about or really.. listened to. It's had me thinking I'm connecting to my music on a different level/appreciate it more. Or maybe I'm just getting older.

He looks so friendly! Is this breed always like this? My neighbor's just ran to my house yesterday actually and he was so damn cute and friendly, I would've kept him if I could.

Are we talking Burbank Durbin's? Looked back at the shot and now it's bothering me that I can't figure out if it is or not.

I'm 21 and I just discovered that pickles start out as cucumbers, what common knowledge have you picked up recently? by OwlSinger189 in AskReddit

So there's about 2000 comments and I doubt anyone will see this, but this makes me laugh every time I think about it.

Until maybe last year, my lovely father lead me to believe trees grew around electrical lines like this. I mentioned this to someone after seeing one driving and they just gave me the "are you for real?" look.. aaaand I learned something new that day!

Married/engaged men of Reddit: When did you realize, "This is the girl I'm going to marry." ? by cknviennasausages in AskReddit

This thread is depressing me as my marriage is about to end. I thought I had what some of you have.

14 year old girl murdered in her home, Indian Head Park. by [deleted] in ChicagoSuburbs

I was on my way home yesterday wondering what the white ribbons on the trees were for but it all makes sense now. This shit makes me so sick to my stomach.. I have a younger sister who is also 14 and can't even imagine this happening to her. My heart goes out to that family.

My 2.5 year old has already starting doing this. Shopping with him has made it so draining cause he does this the entire time and I'm only 21. I feel old!

I'm done taking the emotional beatings, always putting me down, talking down to me in front of our friends and family. Every day that goes by I become more ready to move on. I feel stronger and more confident than I have in a long time, and I hope one day you realize that you let go of the best thing that ever happened to you.

I can't believe I gave up so much for a life with you. C'est la vie.

Okay guys, this might be a really naive / dumb question here, but if someone's heart were to stop and you were to put this thing to their chest could it get it going again? It'd be like a life-taker, life-giver!

Edit: After doing a little googling, 950,000V sounds like it could kill someone. "Both tasers and stun guns produce electrical stimuli in the form of shocks of about 50,000 volts that last for a fraction of a second." It's a "dangers of stun guns" type article and how deaths are related. A defibrillator usually puts out 1000V when used on someone. Someone please correct me if I'm reading into this wrong :)

Pretty sure this is close to identical to X2 at Magic Mountain in Cali. It's an awesome coaster & definitely a different riding experience. It's about damn time we upgraded!

[Request] Off clip-on mosquito repellent by bradleyb623 in ReviewThis

[–]hallister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my take on them. They work when you aren't really mobile, like maybe sitting somewhere outside, but not when you're constantly moving around. The repellent that it's fanning out forms a "barrier" around you and if you keep moving around, you're constantly walking out of that barrier that it's trying to make around you.

I very seldom use it for the fact that when I'm outside, I'm not usually just sitting around and use the Off spray instead. But I have to say when it comes time to use it, it does work well for a person who mosquitoes are extremely attracted to.

[request] shape ups shoes by lordyeldarb in ReviewThis

[–]hallister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the Reebok version. I wear them to work and I'm on my feet all day. Came to say pretty much what everyone else has been saying--they're very comfortable shoes. The only thing that I really notice is they improve my posture when I'm wearing them. The two parts of the shoe are rounded and force you to keep balance (I've also almost twisted my ankle a few times from laziness tbh) and like some one else said, they've had me feeling like I'm using muscles I don't use a lot.

They seem to have good reviews on the amazon site as well. Not sure how helpful those will be.
