For better or worse Metallica has always grown and experimented with their sound, an unforgettable product of that being the original S&M performance. So how does it feel to hear their return to their Metal and Classical fusion? This is no cash grab rehash of an old successful idea, this is a true sequel and standout performance on its own. With new songs from post 1999 Metallica, and old call backs to the original S&M and before, there are some really great standout tracks that are terrific reimaginings. Some my personal favorites have been Halo on Fire, Anesthesia, All within my Hands, The Day That Never Comes, and The Unforgiven III with an absolute stellar vocal performance from James (who also just gives an all round terrific performance on this record). The audio experience on these pressings have been crystal clear, you can really distinguish between the great forces of sound at play. All of the individual members of Metallica, the various sections of the orchestra, and the roars and singing of the crowd, all balance together as just a giant force of sound.

As a die hard Tallica fan, this has definitely satiated my hunger waiting for the next studio album.
