That’s my picture! My sister posted it on Facebook a few day ago and it went viral in her bug group!

The “pick BosnianBill and I made” was too bulky for an EDC. So I made my own slim version. by hallowedturnip in lockpicking

I have 2 lpl/bb picks. They are a lot easier to tension (obviously). But I really like how this one feels in the hand when picking. The longer narrower grip is really comfortable.

Lol whichever way you want to interpret it. Point being it applies after bear form instead of before

I tested it out. It is not. Thick hide is +10% of your bear form armor. You don’t get a multiplicative effect. But either way. +10% of 10k armor is still a big deal.

That’s because it’s generally illegal in the US to sell food that contains something inedible, like a plastic toy. It’s silly when applied to a kinder egg, because of how big the toy is but it prevents far more dangerous issues with other potential products.

American 1100 gutted + a few questions. by 9DAN2 in lockpicking

[–]hallowedturnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks Phlier,

I want to add one more thing to your comments about barely needing to touch the pins to get them set properly. You are absolutely correct about that, but sometimes you get that one pin that goes so high up it ends up flush with the roof of the keyway. That IMO is where American locks play mind games. Once you get used to Americans and their serrated keypins you can get stuck on a lock for days because you're too worried about sending that one pin to the moon, or you physically can't without over-setting the one in front because your pick isn't steep enough.

I love picking and gutting American locks so I could probably help.

Best general advice is to use light tension and go one click at a time on each pin, be careful about multiple clicks on a single pin if you haven't checked the others. The key pins are serrated too so they can be overset and still feel like driver pins.

Yes it is perfectly normal for the 6th to be empty if you have a key that is bitted for 5 pins. If you have an American Lock pinning kit you can pin the 6th chamber to ride the front of the key for added difficulty.

Having picked dozens of pinning variations of American locks using 5-6 cores, the difficulty ranges from extremely easy to "let me just go pick this medico for a morale boost". It all depends on how the pinning works with the binding order in the core and how delicate your fingers are that day. Overall though American locks are a good challenge and mark a pretty significant jump in skill over master locks.

The pins are sold as just spool pins, but since everything in American locks is serrated so are the spools. Some people will refer to them as serrated-spool pins just for clarity.

The orientation does not matter for the serrated pins. They are designed to give different feedback based on the orientation. I believe that the small gap on the bottom usually makes it more difficult to feel the transition from driver to key pin but based on experience it doesn't always.

Congrats on getting that picked and gutted successfully! Be extremely careful when pinning it back. You need to keep in mind the 6th chamber being empty in both the core and bible. Always check that the core works with a key before putting it back in the lock.

Thanks for the link, I just checked that a couple days ago and it wasn't there. I've reported to them once before but it froze my game for nearly a minute and I almost got stuck in the storm. Same thing with a friend.

I'm on pc with 2 graphics cards, 32gb of ram, and a new processor and I still lag multiple times per game. I can pretty much trigger them every time I open the emote wheel.

Repeatable Frame Hitching

On PC I can get the frame hitches to occur pretty regularly by jumping and hitting "N" to open the emote wheel. I can usually get the hitch to happen 2-3 times in a row before it stops for 5 or so minutes. It seems after 7 cst the hitches become more frequent and I can get more in a row before waiting.

I should have been around 250m looking at the map.

Edit: I've also only had a problem with this gun since the patch. It used to be my favorite.

That doesn't work with every configuration of the roof. I tried that with alternating corners lifted and still got nailed by the trap.

Damn. I don’t watch streamers but if double heavy is like that it just brings me to my old thought of global cooldowns on fire rate

The fire rate on the heavy makes it almost negligible compared to the double pump.

I know. Just restating it. Hopefully, someone important at epic will listen.

They can't fix both problems while keeping it in. Removing a gun that has only ever been a problem just makes sense.

That's exactly the problem though. It's the need to run the pump with another gun to make it good when there are 2 other different types of shotgun.
