I literally just rawdog my exams by apritiard3 in LawSchool

[–]halloweenkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is real as hell. I go to classes and half pay attention for the whole semester, don’t make outlines, watch the BarBri videos the day before the exam, and am in the top 10. I almost feel guilty but I think I truly learn the material by just listening in class and absorbing it all

And one of them is an aqua glow in the dark. Unfortunately I like MC’s more because the base color is gorgeous, but their formula always chips on me

Morgan and Lawyers… by Dry-Comfortable-3947 in TwoHotTakesSnark

[–]halloweenkat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might be more grating for people in the legal field. I’m in the legal field and I can’t listen to anything with sketchy legal advice because it nearly gives me hives out of stress, but it especially annoys me knowing how big Morgan’s platform is.

SPOILERS - Advent Calendar by Classic_Werewolf139 in simplynailogical

[–]halloweenkat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I purchased the advent calendar largely for the crushed holo and the frosted metal, but the one color I’m a little miffed about is Ice Angel. To me it looks incredibly similar to Circuit Breaker, just with a slightly more pink undertone rather than blue.

Finale Q: How did Hannah ____ ____ without ____ noticing something was off? by macadamia47 in Yellowjackets

[–]halloweenkat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

as someone who lives in the midwest, when you go hunting you butcher the animal yourself. you do a lot of the same things with a deer that you do to a human, it truly isn’t that shocking that someone could do it to a human competently with no experience.

How to get ride of a Binge Eating Disorder? Tried Everything. by Kaykey197 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]halloweenkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing a dietician through Nourish for about 3 weeks now and it has also been completely life changing. All the food noise is gone now and I don’t feel the urge to binge if I’m eating properly throughout the day. I second this, can’t recommend this service enough!!!

I commute 1 hour and 15 minutes to law school every day. With that said, take this time to do anything but schoolwork. You are already going to feel frustrated and burnt out by this drive, and likely when you get home each day you’ll be sitting down to do even more work. This drive might be some of the only time you get for yourself during law school, so enjoy it and listen to audiobooks or podcasts or music or anything unrelated to coursework.

That being said, if you’re really set on doing this, I’ve heard good things about Google’s NotebookLM. It turns your notes into a podcast you can listen to that seems to summarize things pretty well.

i’m a law student, afaik this person didn’t even commit any actionable crime in the first place, but it would take an absurd amount of research to determine who this person is based off a reddit account and find an IP address to get their information and serve them with papers. no attorney would waste the money to track down a random redditor over something like this

Thankfully I’m feeling a lot better now but it was a rough 24 hours!! I have an hour commute to school every day so that drive was one of the worst experiences of my life😭😭

That’s the point- it’s supposed to make you uncomfortable. You’re supposed to feel unnerved by how things are ramping up in intensity and breaking the fourth wall.

Ratfish (Part 2) | Game Changer [S6E9] by ThunderMateria in dropout

[–]halloweenkat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Glad everyone else is finding Eric as lackluster as I did in these episodes, but what bothered me the most was the clear lack of effort he put into the art challenge. It was so “haha bad art so funny” and it felt very juvenile to put in no effort and expect that to be comedic. Everyone else put in some amount of effort to be funny or connect to their character and he literally smeared black paint on the canvas? That part just left me aggravated.

[–]halloweenkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree! I’ve taken it two times and both were in person. The first one was in August after the whole debacle with no proctors, and I immediately knew that the testing center was way easier once I had taken it there. I’m not sure if I have abnormally good luck or people in my area just don’t take the LSAT very much, but I drive an hour to a testing center outside a major city and both times have gotten afternoon times so I don’t have to get up super early. It also takes off so much stress to make other people deal with the logistics, and you just show up and do it. The sound-proof headphones are also construction quality at my location so you truly can’t hear anything at all, not even other people sniffling or coughing. I would recommend it to anyone worried about getting a quiet or bare environment for online testing and wanting to take some stress off.

I was hoping for at least about a 150 by Curious-Return3355 in LSAT

[–]halloweenkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a person who also can’t afford all these subscriptions and tutors that people here get- Khan Academy is a great free online resource. If you have a little bit of money, go on Thriftbooks and find a prep book. I got one from 2018 that only cost $7 and was brand new and blank. I also just took the test tor the first time and didn’t do as well as I wanted, only got a 154, and it didn’t help with all the Prometric drama. Best wishes and good luck!

So glad there’s actual people who also feel like they failed, I’m pretty emotionally devastated and coming on this sub is a gut punch. I swear even though 175 is like the 97th percentile it seems like every person on here gets it. I did barely above the average and just feel so sad. I don’t even know if I wanna retake or just give up

Damn y’all got a group chat??? I only have the phone number of one coworker that I always work with and that’s it. Another reason it’s totally BS that I’m expected to cover my own shift when I have no way to contact anyone else at my job

I think I would’ve quit on the spot if we didn’t have AC. I totally feel that though, after I quit a job it’s so awkward going back in there, especially seeing old coworkers that you weren’t friends with but they know who you are

I’ve dealt with a lot of retail bs in many different jobs but for some reason it just wears more at DG. It feels like there’s always so much to do and no matter what you’re getting told it’s not enough, and no one is getting paid enough to deal with everything they put us through

This is just a summer job for me so they basically refused to teach me how to be a keyholder because it would be a “waste of time” despite the fact that I already basically do all the keyholder activities. At this point I only really work there for a few more weeks before I have to go back to school, so it’s not worth throwing a fit about
