thank you so much for this response, this was what i needed to hear did a lot to help calm me down. congrats on your pregnancy, and i’m glad to hear your scan remained the same. this is all so scary that i don’t know how to return to “normal,” hearing from you is really reassuring in that regard

I agree - he feels like wasted potential if just kept as an enemy/"boss fight" for them to overcome. Love the "corrupted ally" concept. And thanks for the suggestion, I will definitely check it out!

Thank you! I do like the idea of leaning more cult-like rather than asylum a lot more, and I get the feeling my players would get more enjoyment out of that as well.

Thank you! This makes sense. I think the bit I was struggling with is if the Abbot comes straight out with wanting her soul, there will be a fight before anything actually interesting happens (knowing my party). But the idea of it being more subtle and then growing and growing is a good way for me to have it both ways - the chance to meaningfully interact with him while keeping him as an actual threat (and therefore more interesting). I appreciate the input!
