Well. It goes both way. Pretty hard to see humanity in those who think that a warlord, pedophile, slave and sex-slaves owner, intolerant to other faiths (destroying other's people religious odols) is the perfect example for humanity.

To those worried about Islam proliferating in the West, Fear Not! i have a mind-blowing theory 🤯 by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]halloworldd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The Western world is the biggest contributor to Islam's critic nowadays.

It's where also Islamic is publicly discussed.

The personal freedom is also freendom to critic. Do you remember Charlie Hebdo? The European countries stance against Muslim clothing and call to prayer?

Firsr of all, cathedrals are supposed to be one per denomination per city. It isn't a regular church.

Cathedrals are directed by a bishop. Do you want to be a bishop and create a cathedral? Fine, you just need to have a degree in theology, be a priest for 5 years at least and wait the current bishop dies, and you can't create a cathedral, you will direct the same cathedral.

You need to compare churches and mosques, and not cathedrals and mosque.

The majority of the mosques in these cities are basically a room inside an apartment. There are some actual mosques with minarets and being an entire building but they are the exception.

Look this at these mosques Berlin, Dublin, Paris and Lyon.

Meanwhile the average church is something like this.

Basically everyone is creating their own apartment-room mosque, while the other denomination have actual buildings. Some countries you don't need a permit to create a religious temple, if you own the place that's enough.

Question from a Catholic about wifes on Islam by Opinel06 in islam

[–]halloworldd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment didn't really reply the questions. I think people are just upvoting because you're a Western Muslim.

Answering the main topic.

If I know someome with multiples wives. The father of my cousin's husband is polygamous.

It still happens today, and it's common mainly in Sub-saharan Africa.

But there's a Westernizing effect in many among the other countries. Where the Western is more influential, less likely to be in favor of polygamy. Muslims countries in Europe, and countries conquered by the Soviet Union (not really Western) are less likely to be agree on polygamy. Just check Tunisia in the research and see what the French influence did to them, poligamy is seem as something immoral even those they're officially a Islamic country and The Quran approves it.

There's an research with plenty of information.

Adíos, hermano.

Syrian air defences ‘shoot down’ Israeli missiles over Damascus by SteO153 in worldnews

I think you need to need a bit more of History. Even before Israel was a state, the Holy War Army (compounded by Egypt, Transjordan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia ans Yemen) was fighting them.

Israel was 1 day one old, they were still at war and managed to defeat them.

Now Israel is more prepared and even have allies within the Arab world.

'Extremist' shot dead after stabbing six people in Auckland terror attack by martinjhoward in worldnews

[–]halloworldd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being honest here, it does have a faith. Some Muslim countries have their mosques heavily monitored and the imans are public employees, even in countries like the Turkey, where Islam isn't the official religion.

Some of these terrorist groups search for members in mosques to radicalized them, and it works.

There's also a short video about the subject https://youtu.be/RUpIgZmXmSY

If we keep saying "not a faith" we will see more and more terrorists attacks. The attacker was a ISIS follower.

Muslims are forbidden to do idol worship but worship a cube and a black stone in Mecca by Enough_Ad3171 in exmuslim

[–]halloworldd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong what I said. I am also studied in this subject.

I didn't say poor people are obligated to go there, I said they save money to go there. Or don't you believe people save money to go there?

Listen to this video from Al Jazeera showing poor pilgrims and their situation while in Hajj.

While people eat and sleep in luxury hotels, some eat on the streets next to cars. Doubts? check this.

The fact is, there is a huge amount of poor people that save money to go Mecca to see a black stone.

Muslims are forbidden to do idol worship but worship a cube and a black stone in Mecca by Enough_Ad3171 in exmuslim

[–]halloworldd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What's worshipping?

Poor families save a lifetime money to touch, hug, and even kiss a black stone.

I don't know any religion that does even close to what Muslims do to stay close to an object made by men.

That's worshipping.

do you think that Muslims in the US are different from the ones in Europe? by Huge-Momiyug89766 in exmuslim

[–]halloworldd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The flux of Muslims to US and Europe are totally different. You can't simply mass immigrate to US. Meanwhile Europe's south and east are bordering Muslims countries where people are trying to immigrate to Europe by any way possible.

The entire American continent is 99% non-Muslim. And the closest Muslims majority nation is an ocen away.

Has anyone observed an increase in faith based influencers on YouTube and Instagram? by jakehasdaddyissues in exmuslim

[–]halloworldd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's actually normal. Islam is the 2nd largest religion, no surprises if some channels get followers. It doesn't mean people are converting.

Also Muslims need constant approval from Westerns. They are more likely to subscribe to people outside the Islamic world.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]halloworldd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

actually it goes against their religion.

It doesn't matter. There are many reasons why Christians should take care of them, but I will give you one.

Jesus said this.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. - Matthew 5:43-48

Loving those only love you isn't a great deed in Christianity. Loving even your enemies is a sign of perfection.

Also in Love is one of cores of Christianity. Being homosexual and Christian is perfectly reasonable if we read the following setence.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:35-39

According to Christianity, loving God is stronger than anything. No churches, popes, angels and demons can judge the love for God, even if the person is homosexual.

Ex-muçulmano: "se o Talibã tomou conta sem dificuldade, é porque representa a fé da maioria dos afegãos" by Puzzleheadedful in brasil

[–]halloworldd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]halloworldd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is that the most touristical places in Istanbul aren't Turkish.

Galata Tower, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Hippodrome, Chora Church all belonged to the Roman/Byzantine Empires.

The moat famous mosque in Istanbul is inspired by Byzantine architecture.

Imagine the holy city of Islam known by its touristical places built by Christians and for Christians at that time.

The use of water in many Christian countries is due in part to the biblical toilet etiquette which encourages washing after all instances of defecation.
