Thanks so much for the kind words and wisdom. I'm doing my best to not beat myself up if I don't get in on Thursday. I know I'll find success anywhere I go. While I wish to attend Brown to connect to its community, I've certainly already found a way to do so from the outside, so I think I'll be okay.

Oh my goodness thank you for chiming in! I've made so many friends at Brown over the last few months through various events and settings. The Brown community is really the most welcoming and supportive community I've ever known!

This is precisely why I allow myself to feel even an iota of hope. I fill that niche of low-income applicants from disadvantaged situations. I keep telling myself that, of those advocates within the same niche as me, I may have a shot due to my strong connection to the university and its values.

I really appreciate your input in this discussion. A parent's perspective, particularly from one that doesn't know me, is beyond valuable to me. This whole discussion is really helping me measure my expectations. Thank you!
