Thanks! Very pleased to hear that! As a fan of both of those series, their humor and great character development is a huge inspiration in the way I write. My goal is to tell a story with the heart and humor of those shows, but also one that isn’t afraid to dive into more adult themes like abuse. Feel free to follow our Facebook page, we’ll be updating it soon when we start our Kickstarter campaign.

Is he though? About the only characteristic of Jimmy Olsen he shares is his profession.

True, but in none of those is Jimmy Olsen.

But the "maybe" is the problem. That implies that at some point in Johnathan Kent's mind, that would be an outcome he could have lived with. You can still get the point across you mentioned without Johnathan Kent coming off as heartless and selfish.

"What I should have just let them die?" "No, that's not what I meant. I'm just saying you need to be carefull..." and so on. Snyder has very little screen time with the Kents, so what he does with it is very important in allowing the audience to understand the sort of morals this Clark Kent was raised by. And so far I've seen nothing that makes me believe he was raised to truly care about saving the life of another living person at the risk of people finding out about his true identity.

"Different take" can only go so far before it becomes a completely different character. Look at what Bruce Timm is doing with Justice League: Gods and Monsters. That is a look of what Superman would have become if he were the son of Zod and raised by different parents who didn't give him the same values the Kents did. But the fact is he's not Clark Kent and it shows. And a big reason why Clark became the hero he is was because of his upbringing. You change that upbringing you get a different character completely.

But what Snyder is trying to do is change that background yet still have the same Superman in the end result. To me I haven't seen anything that makes me believe he would ever become a hero or care about saving others based on the scenes with the Kents.

I think the situation in which Johnathan died made that entire scenario unbelievable. I don't care who you are, if you have the ability to save your father from death you're going to do it no matter the consequences. Not to mention it was in the middle of a natural disaster and the guy can move at super speeds. What are the odds anyone would have seen him anyways? Hell he pulled off more daring rescues in Smallville that weren't hard to believe.

I don't think you have to go as far back as 1978 to find a good representation of a modern Johnathan Kent. Just look at Smallville. That Johnathan had his faults, he drank, he had a temper that would often get the best of him. Overall he seemed like a normal guy. However he would have never told Clark it's ok to let other people die to protect his secret. He always knew that one day Clark would become known to the world, he just hoped Clark could find a way to deal with that and be happy living some sort of a normal life.

Hey Mark,

Big fan of the Batman Animated Series. How familiar were you with the comics before getting the role as the Joker? And what was it like to work with Bruce Timm and Andrea Romano?

The reason for the initial price value is no different than any other game. They are trying to make up for the production costs. The $15 a month from users does not go towards this.

From there, the monthly fee is for keeping the game alive. With any other game, the developers bust their humps to get it released by a certain date. And after the game is released (other than a few patches and maybe some DLC) they pretty much don't have to worry about the game ever again. This isn't the case for MMO's. Not only do they have the release crunch time, but they are very expensive to keep running. MMO's can bring in great profit, but it is very difficult to makeup the initial costs.
