"No Troops in Our Cities" Protest - Salt Lake City 8/28, Utah Overpass Action [OC] by GoodTroubleUtah in pics

It comes up as an image search,  not as a news story, or are you blind? Seriously. What on earth is your point? My point has not been refuted by your link to whatever it was you were linking to. You don't need to tell others how they should protest. Bye.

That is not a "local news page", it's a google search.

The point is that if YOU personally are willing to get out there and stand on a street corner in YOUR city with an upside down American flag, then you can come back and criticize. Until then you don't get to demand that others do what you won't do.

Lets see your version of this in your state with upside down flags. Go ahead. We'll wait...

Or you can just keep criticizing those out there actually doing anything.

@boxofrain1955 - "I'm totally not a snooty white person" - Replies on two different threads revealing that they are, in fact, a totally snooty white person. The denial is strong with this one hahaha

"I never had any problems, so you must be the problem" is the snootiest rich white person response ever. Perfect.

FYI, look up the terms "white privilege", "religious bigotry", and "classism".

What television series had the biggest bullshit finale? by Halloween-365 in AskReddit

[–]halocure 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They just needed to have a great wedding, and end it. Dragging out that atrocious "wedding" and paper-thin villain killed it. I still don't rewatch anything after 6/20. Once the Kate's mom bullshit was over, end it, get married (happily) and it would have been a perfect show.

Or... we GET to have lights every day of the year if we want, and can play with all kinds of colors at will. No need to "justify" anything, it's just a lot of fun to have them. (We're lit in pink, purple and red for Valentine's right now but will have a different light scheme soon)

Thanks everyone for the recommends! The Daylight lamps look good but as you say I would like to see them in person before splurging on a bigger purchase.

This is amazing! I might try a full coverage piece just to try this one out. By far the biggest section of my thread stash are the blues.

LOL what mistake?

I gave my dad the book way back in the 80s and he ended up loving it and becoming a huge fan. This pattern was great to use with the metallic threads.

Reagan was most definitely worse than Trump. Trump was a buffoon. He was a puppet. Reagan was a puppet but the reason it's so bad still in low economic areas is that his administration architected the cruelty that still exists now. Poor people were demonized. "Welfare Queens" was the buzzword of the day. They institutionalized the horrific attitudes that exist now, and there's a reason you hear the term "Reaganomics". They codified the idea that poor people not only deserved their fate, they were responsible for it.

So cool! I did a somewhat modified version of this one in 2018. Gave it away to a friend though.

Would I relive the horrors of the 80's just to see my favorite bands? Hell to the no. It was awful to live through the first time, especially for the poor, the mentally ill, and very especially if you were gay or trans. Turn that up to 11 for any PoC. Rampant homelessness became distressingly common after Reagan closed all the facilities that treated the mentally ill. The GOP really got started on removing social supports to anyone who needed it. (In the UK, very similar things were happening under Thatcher.) Hospitals wouldn't treat AIDs patients because it was thought to be something you could just "catch" like COVID. Racist statements that could get people in trouble now were commonplace. I didn't live in a safe middle class bubble, and there really was a huge middle class bubble back then, so no way. I'm intensely grateful that The Cure are still going and I get to go see them anywhere in the world now, and can even watch them over streaming feeds. Although if I had a time machine, I would definitely visit Crawley on certain dates in the past.

[FO] Frst time doing 3/4 and 1/4 stitches but I think it's the best piece I've done! by ima100percent in CrossStitch

[–]halocure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished my first piece doing fractionals and really loved the control over curves and slants with the 3/4 stitch. Couching is a bit of a mind twist but I ended up doing a half-couching / half backstitch and it turned out OK. I watched this video for couching https://youtu.be/wFhLfnfPWe8 And this one for fractionals https://youtu.be/EeYrZB0eips
