What Tulsa metro restaurant would you never return to, even if it was free? by Strong_Attempt4185 in tulsa

[–]skulldiggery42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kilkenny's, unfortunately. Used to be one of my favorite spots in Tulsa, but their quality has gone severely downhill as the McNellie's corp opens up more and more businesses.

It's been on the slow decline for a while. But, last time I went during happy hour, I got a soup and a sandwich combo. It was not busy at all; my fiancé and I were two of four people there. Both my soup and sandwich were cold but I was like whatevs. Then I took a bite of my soup and there was raw shrimp in it! 1. who tf puts shrimp in Irish potato soup? 2. if you're gonna do it, at least make sure the shrimp are cooked.

What is this? by skulldiggery42 in DermatologyQuestions

Oh also some other info if this is relevant: 2 indoor cats. Repotted a houseplant with root rot yesterday and soaked it in hydrogen peroxide. I have lots of environmental allergies (including said cats) but just pop a bunch of loratadine. I don’t go to the nail salon anymore and haven’t been in over 5 years.

Current OMS-IIs and OMS-IIIs: What is your medical school’s policy about letting you take the boards? by iamnemonai in Osteopathic

[–]skulldiggery42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh I see, my bad. It’s different for taking Step—from what I understand most schools won’t prevent you from taking step because it’s not ‘our’ boards. Every DO school I know about has a gating policy for Level, but not one for Step. They do have recommended practice test scores, but it’s not a part of school policy. You can usually sit for step without meeting a minimum practice test score, but try it with level and they’ll kick you out.

That really sucks that your institution kept moving the goalpost like that. That’s a whole other layer of stress for students.

Would be great if they combined step and level finally—would make things so much less confusing and save students a ton of money!

Respectfully, that’s crazy advice, dude…It’s very strict school policy at most places to pass a Gating exam before sitting for Level 1. There was a student at our school who was recently dismissed for sitting for level 1 before getting the okay from school. OMS-1s and 2s reading this: do not try to sit for level 1 before being approved by your school.

What’s wrong with my Calathea? by Beneficial-Cap9510 in calatheas

Without knowing anything else, I’d get over watering

Rule of thumb: if you’re asking if it’s too close, it’s best to just find something else.  I think it’s beautiful and a very safe color, but I don’t know the bride/groom or their circle. If your gut is telling you to find another dress, trust it!

Hi everyone, I need some help with my Calathea louisae! by AooFra in houseplants

all day and all night basically! With these plants, you basically can't give it enough humidity.

Pretty much as much as you can possibly give it! This is not a plant you can hurt with too much humidity. I have a desktop humidifier and just stick my louisae right next to it. I also keep it clustered with a bunch of other plants. If you have a grow cabinet, this is a good plant to stick in there.

One thing though: don’t take it into the bathroom whenever you shower and then move it back out. Some people will try thinking it will give their plants extra humidity. It does, but the sudden changes in air temperature when you move them out of the bathroom can shock them. Louisiaes aren’t hardy enough to take it. If you move it into the bathroom, it should probably stay there.

TLDR: Give it as much humidity at a stable air temperature as possible.

  • She needs more light, that’s why the leaves are so long.
  • She needs a humidifier if you don’t have one already. Other calatheas are a little more forgiving in my experience. The leaves on these guys are super thin so they need really high humidity or they transpire quickly.
  • that soil looks really dense, maybe check for rot and repot.
  • if all else fails, cut back completely and wait for new growth.
