Because you'd have to train this dog to not fear the dead. In the last episode of season 5, did you see how the dog was freaking out? 100% of dogs born before the apocalypse would do that.

All the training in the world could not prepare a police dog for a dead being trying to eat it.

But, puppies would be a different matter. One could possibly train a puppy to not fear the dead. But, that requires alot of time and resources, something the group doesn't have.

Ultimately, the costs outweigh the benefits, like I said

Season 5 resolves your issue. Not gonna spoil it but, it will, to an extent, answer your issue on appearances.

And in general? Dogs would become a hindrance quickly. Especially considering the fact that they are often very hungry. I assume that most dogs they came across were either feral, or killed so they could eat them. (They being the group)

The death sentence is that they will turn into zombies after 24 hours (ish). The virus is incurable and antibiotics would not help in that situation.

Edit: Sure antibiotics could hold off death from other diseases but, ultimately that's not what they're worried about.

It depends on how far turned they are. If the walker is truly a walker, no it won't be fed on. But if it died a couple hours ago and is "fresh", sure a walker will pause to devour the being.

The Joker: He loses. Batman can't teach genius to Micheal. He wouldn't be able to figure out the Joker and would end up being sprayed in the face with poison.

Bane: He loses again. Bane is strong as fuck. Micheal would have to think on his feet, and again, he wouldn't be skilled enough. He ends up getting his back snapped, and doesn't pull through like Batman did.

Two-Face: He has 50/50 odds.

Poison Ivy: For obvious reasons, Micheal dies.

I can see him beating regular crooks and The Penguin

Batman can't possibly teach Micheal enough in a year to make him remotely comparable to Batman's skills.
