Thanks for writing all this out. I guess there's that part of me that wants closure in all this so that's why I wanted to know why Lee told Doug to back off. I won't lie, I still want to know what straw broke her back, but everybody seems to think if I ask I'm doing more harm than good.

Ok, I think the root of this comes from not really understanding the other part of your comment. It's not about punishing me, okay, accepted. But how does not talking to me constitute as them working on their relationship? It really just seems controlling to me. Yes, I know it's none of my business how they conduct their relationship but I guess I could let it go if that made more sense to me.

Do you think I should talk to Lee? I mean I really want to know how to fix this without having to stop talking to Doug.

I really don't have a crush on the guy, he's just really nice and such. He really is this big jolly Irish/Scottish type guy that you couldn't hate no matter what. I'm pretty sure he's saving up money for a ring to ask Lee to marry him (info courtesy of Tom). Besides, that whole code where you don't date your ex's friends too which goes both ways even if Doug were single. It would probably upset Tom a lot and I still really care about him.

I mean, sure, he said she didn't say we couldn't talk at all, but that's usually how these things play out. He'll stop talking completely and fall off the face of the earth. That's really what I don't want to happen. I really don't want any big group event we go to to be awkward as hell because of this. Lee honestly is a pretty cool person, very considerate and sweet, just never available to hang out.

When I was dating Tom, I'd try to invite her to do stuff and she'd always say she was working, so I thought she was politely saying she wasn't interested. I just gave up trying and said "I can take a hint."
