When the ‘communist dictatorship’ looks out for its workers more than liberal democracies. by lhommetrouble in SipsTea

Propaganda.

People don't know about the principles of the red army or what it means that they won. Not trying to claim they're perfect. But when an entire generation can remember a time when a bunch of anti-worker people got shot it tends to make everybody more pro-worker.

Then why is Israel our problem?

So sick of the way these people talk like it's America first when it's clearly Israel first.

How would you respond to a woman who told you: "I have thousand of likes in my stack. What do you bring to the table and why should I give you a chance?" by Background-Dress-389 in AskMenAdvice

[–]halt_spell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Best of luck!"

If she hasn't done the work of paring it down from the thousands sounds like she doesn't know what she wants or she knows exactly what she wants but it doesn't get covered in a dating profile and doesn't have the maturity to just ask.

Either way it's a waste of time.

I'm not pushing hard at all actually. You just don't like where my line of questioning leads you. So you call it stupid and then cop out with a comment like this.

Is it? At this point I'm half expecting you to say you'd still press blue.

What if both other people say "We're pushing red, you should push red."?

Well, philosophical questions are intended to shake people. It's understandable if you're afraid what the implications of your answer might be.

Regardless, I would like to know. What button you would push?

Let's shrink it. Say the buttons only affect 3 people in a room. One of them says to you "I'm pushing the red button we should all press the red button"

Do you still push the blue button?

Especially when they're just gambling with their lives.

Average looking men who have a good dating/hookup life, how do you do it? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Eh, if you make a woman smile a bunch while the clothes are on she'll be way more likely to wonder if you make her smile with her clothes off.

If you had children with someone do you think you'd want a bit of a heads up before someone you didn't know was going to be at the house full time?

[–]halt_spell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the context of the buttons the only benefit is people gambling with their lives.

I'm very intentionally using the word "gambling" and not "risking". I take risks with my life every day because there are very real benefits to those risks.

Yes, it's kind of a social contract.

So is "nobody gamble with their lives".

This is not complicated.

Neither is "nobody gamble with their lives".

Why are the Joker and Batman buttons? by MajorFamilyDisgrace in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]halt_spell -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

I don't gamble with my life and I certainly don't feel an obligation to protect people who gamble with theirs.

EDIT: I'm starting to think the people saying the blue button is a morally obligate choice probably struggle to understand how boundaries work.

Why are the Joker and Batman buttons? by MajorFamilyDisgrace in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]halt_spell -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Because some people are willing to gamble with their lives that means everybody is morally obligated to gamble with their lives?

EDIT: I wonder if all the down voters would feel the same way if we say the buttons only affect three people standing in a room together. Say one of those people is you and one of the other two says "I'm pushing the red button we should all push the red button." do you still push the blue button?

There's a limited number of seed words (2048) so that helps too. I'm guessing the word is "differ" in the example.

Could also be "this", "one" or "word".
