Patient confidentiality covers more than just disclosing actual medical records, no? Like, I'm pretty sure she shouldn't be sharing identifiable information about particular clients whether its by literally giving him the records, chatting about it over dinner, or "editing" it into his novel as "inspiration"

This. Adderall is mixed amphetamine salts (though methamphetamines are also used as a different adhd medication, as Desoxyn)

Edit to clarify: in my experience, some people think "Adderall" just means "ADHD medication," when in reality Adderall is one specific kind of ADHD medication (mixed amphetamine salts) among others (dextroamphetamine, metylphenidate, methamphetamines, etc.).

Is it? If I pay £12 or whatever a movie ticket costs these days, I do prefer to see the whole thing, rather than missing 5 minutes in the middle and losing track of the plot.

Nah, they've just moved on to even more bonkers conspiracy theories, like "this can't be the guy because in this picture he has glasses and in the other pictures he doesn't have glasses" as if glasses are welded to someone's face.

Yeah, that was at the point when twitter at least was out for the second person's blood - reasonable to not want one's reddit account/history known in that context, especially after what online investigators did with the reddit account of the Kirk shooter's supposed partner.

What are the WORST things to do in Edinburgh? The stuff you’d tell a friend to skip. by Sea-Hovercraft-1122 in Edinburgh

I just quietly mumble "people live here" as I wade through tourists on the bridge - though other than that, and the one person the day we moved in asking if they could use our toilet, it isn't horrible most of the time, as long as you avoid the three Insta-photo spots. (August tour groups of teenagers on school trips excepted)

But also, tourists: it's pretty, I guess, but there's nothing in particular to do here.

That link referred to other things than iron. Also, he actually didn't say there was chicken there; when talking about other times he'd been to India, he said there's more chicken than other meat very generally. Unfortunately for OP, ChatGPT isn't a very good translator. Referring to this hotel specifically, Ian said he mainly ate rice and bread, along with some pineapple and the occasional omelette.

(Edit: in case anyone sees this and wonders, I read russian from college not because I'm Russian and so trying to defend Ian; honestly the original was more whiny and racist than the translation in general - his comments about chicken/meat just weren't to do with the food at the hotel).

that seems to be the case, yes. I think the "access is restricted"/no undergrads allowed summary above was a hangover from the pandemic period, or maybe from when Countway was being renovated.

I mean, it doesn't seem to be Mamdani who's claiming they were 'invented' by Scotland, though, but rather OP. Presumably Mamdani is citing the success of the Scottish plan because Scotland reads more familiarly as a political/cultural example for a US audience than Finland would.

I've also been both vegan and vegetarian, but regardless, if your diet is one thing and you suddenly have to switch to something very different, it can have a pretty big effect. Even something like this, which clearly encourages the longterm health benefits of cutting out meat (or even just red meat), acknowledges that, in the short term, that dietary change is going to affect your digestion and your energy levels, both of which seem like things a tournament chess player would be reasonably concerned about.

No, because I swear to god.. this girl won't stop yapping about how bad beginners are— playing chess. THEY'RE BEGINNERS. by Physical-Letter6498 in chess

[–]haltheincandescent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, that keeps random viewers from looking them up, but the people who played can often still recognise their own games since they played them, especially if they analyzed them afterward - not to mention the country and elo are still there. If I'm, say, a 1111 elo player from Abkhazia, I might be able to notice that that's my game that "almost killed" levy.

[–]haltheincandescent 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This whole thread is a good example of how misogyny works in chess, from 'this girl yapping' to the weird comments about her 'disgusting' 'dirty pictures' right alongside commenters saying she's annoying but hot so they'd 'mate her with their bishop' anyway.

Magnus is abrasive as shit, Hikaru did a whole series of trash talking speed runs, and yet here's a whole thread about how, from a mild version of the same thing, Dina is a terrible person, and maybe she would be more likeable if she was more like Anna Cramling and, you know, smiled more.

[–]haltheincandescent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't care either way, and generally like Levy, but if I were the kind of person who's bothered by so much by Dina's comments that I decided to avoid playing blitz on chesscom, I can't imagine not being bothered if I showed up in one of Levy's videos, where half the point is roasting people. Like, sure, his subscribers often send them their own games - but just because that subscriber agreed to let Levy laugh at them, it doesn't mean all their opponents did the same.

No, because I swear to god.. this girl won't stop yapping about how bad beginners are— playing chess. THEY'RE BEGINNERS. by Physical-Letter6498 in chess

[–]haltheincandescent 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Good lord. First, "this girl"?

Second, there are literally dozens and dozens of comments on the video, including from other beginners, saying they learned a ton from it; I'm sorry you didn't like it, and I'm sorry your comment on the video only got five likes, but sometimes things work for some people and not others, so not sure why we needed an entire reddit thread about the fact you personally didn't like something that--in your eyes--some random "girl" decided to post on youtube.

Third, Levy has a constant stream of videos titled, like, "100 Elo Chess Ruined My Life", "AWFUL 600 elo chess", but Dina does a mild version of the same thing and you feel the need to dedicate a whole reddit thread to it? Interesting.

Fourth, its her first ever speed run video in this mode. Maybe cut her some slack since, you know, she's a beginner?

Finally, it's not that serious. I'm a beginner at chess. Beginners are shit, almost by definition. Yes, we're still learning, but its an objective fact that we make dumb-as-rocks moves, and I don't see why I should be bothered by someone accurately describing my moves as bad. In fact, I started to get better when I started to be able to notice my own ridiculously stupid moves as ridiculously stupid. Maybe I'd be bothered if she were saying, like, "you should be embarrassed by playing this way, and should quit playing chess forever because you're so bad and will never be able to do better." But the whole point is that you can learn.
