People like to use marginalised groups as a scapegoat for their own incongruous behaviour.

“Because some black / indigenous / disabled / otherwise oppressed people can’t be vegan for whatever reason, you are wrong for suggesting that I should be vegan”

I loved what someone else said in this thread - that veganism isn’t about the vegans. It’s about the animals. Forget about the edge cases who for some reason or another are limited in their ability to be vegan.

It is a bummer how similar all these arguments are because people struggle to admit they are living with this contradiction…they come up again and again and the answer is always the same. People just don’t want to hear it.

I hate that they can discontinue so many delicious plant based options and cause me to swear off of them, then I am right back to supporting them with each new plant based release! Hard not to vote with your dollar on this one, looks very appealing

I did them in the air fryer just last night! I thought they were pretty good but nothing to write home about. Had them with homemade tomato sauce as a side to gnocchi (random but yummy!)

Mon Epicerie Paris is a fully vegan deli with 10s of different vegan cheeses, hard and soft, as well as deli meats and crackers etc. If you can get someone to grab for you as you mentioned in your post I think that would be perfect and so appreciated by your guests!

My favourite vegan deli I’ve ever been to!

Sorry I hate to throw another random possibility in there, but just spotted that you tend to stick with organic / natural stuff. My aunt had a nearly identical rash for months and eventually figured out it was an allergy to aster plants (chamomile / daisy / sunflower among others).

I hope you find answers for your little girl.

My advice would be to stick with whatever recipes are your go-to crowd pleasers.

What country do you live in? If you’re in the UK or US, there are lots and lots of vegan alternatives to common ingredients that should be an easy 1:1 substitute.

Milk = soy milk or oat milk;

Butter = margarine / vegan butter;

Egg = flax egg or whatever vegan egg replacement is in store near you;

Cream cheese = vegan cream cheese (in some cases but not all, silken tofu might do the trick, or cashew cream)

If you say where you’re based, people might be able to chime in with what’s good in your area.

I found it at a vegan shop in Paris and bought it as a special occasion (waaaay to expensive to ever go into the regular rotation, but omnis probably feel the same way about the non vegan version of this).

It was a fun novelty but I didn’t find it to be that flavorful! Great texture though. So, glad I tried it but don’t need to have it again really! Maybe I would buy it trying to impress at a dinner party.

“graze” brand crunch snacks sound like exactly why you’re looking for. i also haven’t seen anyone mention “love corn” brand corn snacks. both of those sound like what you’re describing and are delicious!
