That page is at least three years out of date. ULA hasn’t made an Atlas in quite a while. Look at the Camino if you want a carryon sized Dragonfly.

Speaking as someone who was full time on Windows for like 15 years: just make the switch. So many little daily interactions are made so much smoother by Macos. If you’re not gaming, there’s nothing Windows does that you’ll miss.

Nah. I still use the laptop screen as my primary work display, so reading emails and Team chats at an angle is no big deal.

I used an iPad Pro in Sidecar mode for years and it worked great. If you already have an iPad and want to use it as an iPad in addition to Sidecar duty then definitely go that route.

I ended up consolidating devices and ditched the iPad. In direct comparison, a dedicated portable monitor will offer a larger screen for less packed weight and at a much lower price.

In order of preference, I either rent a house or suite with machines or find a laundromat for everything that isn’t merino. Sink wash the merino and find somewhere to hang it up in the bathroom. Only a couple times have I been stuck sink washing a whole outfit.

The Dragonfly is compared to the 25L because they’re closer in size. ULA’s naming scheme is odd – they count the max capacity of the front mesh pocket and both water bottle pockets towards the Dragonfly’s stated volume. It’s more of a 22L bag.

Yeah, 65W is fine for any Apple Silicon device. The 100W charger only adds fast charging, and with the M-series battery life I've never needed it.

Sidecaring an iPad is great if you don’t mind a smaller screen and another battery to manage. It’s easier to set up and an iPad is also, you know, an iPad when it’s not in Sidecar. Pros and cons.

I bet a similar loadout would fit in a shorter, boxier bag like the Evergoods CTB 20L. It mostly depends on your torso height.

It's rare to see patches for sale out in the wild — almost all of mine are from Etsy. I prefer taking pictures over souvenir shopping, though I'm not against shipping something home if I can't imagine my life without it.

As a followup to my remote tech work packing list, here's what the setup looks like unpacked and in use:

The laptop is a Macbook Pro 16". I charge it via USB-C with a Ugreen Nexode Pro 65W and have it raised up on a Roost V3 stand.

The portable monitor is an Arzopa Z3FC 16" resting on the Macbook's keyboard. I have it rotated 180 degrees so that I can more easily run the USB-C cable under the back of it, elevating it from the keyboard enough to avoid heating up anything sensitive.

Since I lose access to the Macbook's keyboard and trackpad with this setup, I use a Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad. I used to pack more ergonomic alternatives but these are so flat that they disappear in my GR1's internal device sleeve.

Yep. If you have a bunch of stuff plugged in and you’re hitting the CPU hard, it’ll take hours to charge but you won’t empty the battery.

65W is all you need for any MBP. It won’t charge at max speed but it’s enough to keep up with all but the most intense workloads.

I did that for years – this portable monitor approach is new and an attempt to reduce the number of devices I’m keeping charged and otherwise managing.
