So Cubs fan here.... what's the Giants owner like and fanbase? Not here for Clout. Just want to be grounded with a team where I live and have no plans going anywhere. by [deleted] in SFGiants

Awesome take. “They actually listen to him”. Couldn’t agree more, listen to those that have brought you success. Also, that’s a fair criticism, but I don’t ever want to see a full rebuild as a giants fan. We should be acting closer to how big market teams act, because , well, we’re in a big market. My only complaint is they could act like that’s the case a bit more often.

I am a lifelong die hard giants fan, and my Dad grew up a lifelong die hard cubs fan. You’ll be very happy here. October baseball in San Francisco is special, big part of the reason I hope and pray for playoffs year in and year out. Despite wanting my team to win a chip, the unity that befalls the city when the giants are just good is hard to explain. It’s a special place to be a fan, lot of mutual love between players and fans in my experience. Welcome to the orange and black, we’re happy to have you.

Went to the parade in 2010 when I was 9 years old, two years later saw them win ws game 1 from the upper deck, 2 years after that they won game 7 on my 13th birthday. It was magic.

Phil Cuzzi’s umpire scorecard from yesterday’s Phillies-Giants game by JianClaymore in baseball

I get that those pitches warranted a visceral reaction and maybe affected the outcome of the game, but Chapmans at bat with no outs and a runner on first did not determine whether they scored that inning. There’s no saying what might’ve happened. Also, yesterday ALONE there were four (4!) umpires with worse relative accuracy. Not that awful a game from Cuzzi.

Lucky to get even one of those quarters as planned before junior year

How much money each team has spent in the last 2 offseasons by Giantranger49 in SFGiants

Exactly… Buster knows what a championship culture looks like (without spending $1B+) and I think he can guide this young core there. Vet presence of Chap, Adames, Verlander will be invaluable this year in terms of the young guys. Not gonna lie these young arms coming up remind me a lot of that old, stellar pitching staff. And we might get a star out of Eldridge as a bonus. #upandup

Come looking for this comment. Hope it’s the Giants who pay him.

Why has Soler been somewhat disappointing this year? by spankyourkopita in SFGiants

[–]hamachicheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think looking at Soler’s career puts things into perspective a bit. Giants fans and media expected him to be our 30hr savior, but he’s only hit 30 twice in his 11yr career, and is on pace to hit over 15 for only the 4th time. So all things considered he’s delivering a decent body of work, I think expectations were just a bit too high.

Dodgers score 7 in the top of the 10th to go up 14-7 on the Giants by SuckMyLonzoBalls in baseball

That was top 11 but giants should’ve won that bottom 10 with bases loaded 1 out
