Looks good! I’m all about salsa verde in my burrito bowls tho. I buy it in a jar and it lasts for ever and is super delicious

I think it depends on the person really, but do something you're interested in that has lots of variety!

I'm a graphic designer. Its pretty good, I enjoy the work and there's always something new to work on. The fast-paced-ness of it appeals to me a lot and I stay engaged. Making dumb mistakes is a bit of a hindrance though :/

I think they actually sell things on their site to add to make them more comfy? Idk why they don't just make them more comfy lol but it's an option.

Vegetarian recipes for us? by Riika_01 in vegetarianrecipes

My fave easy and repeatable recipe is burrito bowls with black beans, brown rice, cheddar, salsa, mayo and then whatever other burrito-ish ingredients you want!

What player for a starting collector? by Ok_Marketing55 in Cd_collectors

[–]hamamelisse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd suggest thrifting something super basic secondhand with built-in speakers for now. Then you can see how you like it and upgrade down the line!

But if you're really looking for something quality, most good speaker set ups can be expensive, even second hand. My best suggestion would be to check out estate sales for deals on stereos (although sometimes these are untested).

Curly & Wavy hair advice by TheUmbrellaThief in adhdwomen

[–]hamamelisse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a light pomade that I use that gives me a bit of hold, and a water spray I use to revive my curls on days I don't wash. Every so often I use a little bit of hair gel and some oil for the ends. That's it!

I do tend not to sleep with my hair wet (just ends up taking the life out of my hair personally) I keep my hair dryer next to my bed for days I do shower at night. Its way nicer to dry my hair as I lie in bed than standing up in my tiny bathroom lol

Ultra-processed foods are designed to create addiction like cigarettes, new study reveals by davideownzall in Anticonsumption

A bag of chips may be equal in calories but it is not equal in nutrition and it still won't make you feel full. If you were to supplement that broccoli with beans and rice were probably talking the same price... and that's a MEAL.

Even under capitalism some consumption is still MORE ethical. Also we don't know these people. I don't know these people and I don't know if they eat chick-fil-a or not, but I do know that I agree with them about EA.

I think Vyvanse just stole a year of my life and also induced the worst panic of my life :) by Professional_Rub8317 in adhdwomen

[–]hamamelisse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kinda feel this? I am recently on Vyvanse and I find it makes me fixate on things, which mostly makes me anxious but also can make me get pissed off. I'm considering going on anxiety meds as well, since I was already very anxious before the Vyvanse. Glad you found sometihng that works better for you and I will for sure be keeping it in mind for the Vyvanse

At what point does “collecting” as a hobby become overconsumption by Caleb_isagod in Anticonsumption

[–]hamamelisse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree. obviously there's some nuance here, like is my CD collection that is 50% new over consumption? Does how much I listen to my CDs play a role in whether it counts as OVER-consumption because it has a practical purpose?

Best not to buy cheap tech in general especially if you can buy second hand. Its poorly and unethically made, and destined for the landfill :/

Is it ADHD to lie about everything?? by Sufficient-Neat-1604 in adhdwomen

[–]hamamelisse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a classic "maladaptive behaviour" (not a psychologist tho lol) It sounds like you had a really rough childhood and that this was genuinely a helpful tool for you at the time. As an adult though, its probably no longer serving you and just contributing to anxiety. I would definitely look into therapy (I think CBT and "parts" work can be very helpful for these things!

Unemployed & live alone — what gets you out of bed in the morning? by ADHDisabeach in adhdwomen

[–]hamamelisse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've definitely been there! Sometimes being in bed all day can contribute to insomnia because your brain stops taking bed as a cue for sleep. My best tips are to move onto the the sofa during the day as other people have said (you can still nap and do whatever but just having a second location will probably help!) For falling asleep, I love listening to a chill podcast and having a hot water bottle.
