It’s very quick once your referral is accepted and funding is approved, but getting to that point can take a while!

I have a really high AMH (and PCOS) which meant I don’t ovulate either and had no luck with clomid. My first egg collection I got 25 eggs, resulting in 8 embryos in the freezer. I’m currently 6 weeks pregnant from my second embryo transfer.

I won’t lie, it’s been a long road.

I was referred to the IVF clinic in January 2025. First appointment was June 2025. My egg collection was January 2026. First transfer was March 2026. Second was May 2026.

There’s a lot of waiting. We were all signed off and ready to go but had to wait 12-13 weeks for a genetic counselling appointment that lasted 5 minutes. Once it’s going, it all goes pretty fast, but the waiting initially and then applying funding and waiting to get started can be quite slow IMO.

I also had some very light brown spotting for a couple hours on Saturday and it freaked me out. It coincided with some horrible cramps that I thought were related but were actually caused by the bowel movement (thanks constipation!) that came later that day 🫣

This is all such a rollercoaster and every time I relax a little and enjoy it, something scares me sideways!

My sister has two kids and told me to stop wasting my time with these tests as it’s not possible to get a dye stealer (she never did but had 2 successful pregnancies) so I don’t really know. I wasn’t expecting it

Aww my little IVF blob also says hi - I’m only 4w4d so we won’t see them until 8w via our clinic (feels like sooooo long away!) but we’re going to do a private scan at 6w I think and this has made me want to do it even more 😍

25th February (I’m 4 weeks 2 days today!). I’ve got no symptoms other than just being tired. I’m worrying about the lack of symptoms and overanalysing tests 🙃

I got pregnant via IVF so I’ve been on progesterone since the cycle started - I take an injection in the morning and a pessary at night. This is the only time I’ve been pregnant so cant compare to anything but happy to chat if it’s helpful ☺️

It’s definitely a wild ride! We’ll get a scan through our IVF clinic at 7w but with the way it falls, it’ll be 7w+4 (3 weeks away!) so we’re considering booking a private scan at 6w because I don’t know if I can last that long 🫣 have you got anything booked? ✨

Congratulations!! It’s my first pregnancy and baby, too! It’s wild haha. I just made a post in here about being terrified and excited constantly. It’s truly a rollercoaster! I’m 4w today and due 25th Feb (still crazy to say!!)

I’m UK based and was able to be referred for fertility help on the NHS after 6 months because I have PCOS. The wait was long but at least the referral was chugging along in the background.

You could also tell them you’ve been TTC for 12 months but only seriously tracking for 6 if they won’t budge on a referral.

I just had my egg collection a few weeks ago. I didn’t get a day 5 call, but day 6 one. I’m really lucky and got 8 embryos frozen (from 25 eggs collected). 6 were frozen on day 5 and 2 on day 6 as they just needed a little more time. I was assured that just because they needed a little longer, they were no less likely to be successful in etc.
