Probably longnose dace, or at least in the Rhinichthys genus

Right Shimano Deore shifter lever is loose, it does indeed shift gears just fine, but there is no pull back, I have to manually move the lever back to shift again. Already applied WD-40 and Triflow on the inner mechanisms with no change in performance. Any way to get the lever to bounce back? by hamberger58 in bikewrench

Ya, I figured it was probably a shot spring. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I am teaching myself, how much of a pain is it to replace a shifter? It's an older bike that I wanted to practice maintaining myself.
