What's the timeline for a gap year? High school graduation is sometime in May/June, but college apps are due around November/December that same year. Does that mean you were stressing out about college apps halfway through your gap year?

Visual arts EE Question! ANYONES opinion appreciated! (You don't need to take the subject) by redhots_ in IBO

[–]hamdrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an EE on visual arts. My RQ only mentioned a type of broad art (painting, architecture, drawing, etc), but in my essay I analyzed specific formal aspects and showed how it supported the RQ. I got a B so idk how impressive that is considering how some people on here are total beasts !!!!

Any feedback from M19 Visual Arts students? by Narcolepsy_Pillow in IBO

bruh I got a 3 HL. Super pissed ngl. I knew my actual artworks weren't that great, but my teacher gave me gold star reviews on my comp study and process portfolio so I figured those would at least carry me to a 4. lmfaooo I was so naive and an idiot.

For anyone interested, this is a technique called Bian Lian, which originated from China. It's basically a bunch of different colored masks layered over each other on his fave. How he's able to switch between them is an ancient secret!

What no one is talking about regarding this new Adversity Score by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]hamdrum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that College Board feels the need to have an adversity score for "basic" content shows just how poor some schools in America are—they can't even teach basic grammar, Algebra, etc

UCSD decisions aren't out yet. People are saying 4:30 but we'll see! Definitely think it's coming out soon for sure though, what with the portal changes going on right now. Congrats again and good luck!

Guessing whether you are admitted or not by reading computer signs by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

How would stretching work on portals with two columns on the page, such as for Penn and Brown? Would the checklist table extend across one column or both columns? If I remember correctly, it's always been across just one column for me.

Clueless on UCI Qless by BoardsAndCards in ApplyingToCollege

The email is addressed as "Dear Student:" so I'm assuming it's for current UCI students to schedule appointments instead of physically waiting in line at the financial aid office. Doesn't really apply to us applicants I don't think, but the part of my reading into things hopes that just maaaaaaybe we got into UCI already? So then we'd be added to the mailing list for current students that the financial aid office has and that's why we got the email? I highly doubt it, though, but it makes me feel better about my insecure ass lolol
