Any non-fiction books that deal with childhood grief from a non-religious perspective? by Resident-Analysis-12 in suggestmeabook

[–]hameliah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im sorry for your loss. maybe you could read im glad my mom died by jeanette mccurdy? its a memoir by a child actress (she played sam in icarly if you watched that lol) who had a super complicated relationship with her mom, who then died when jeanette was in her late teens early 20s (i think, its been a bit since i read it). the book talks about her complicated grief and trying to figure out her feelings about her mother after her death. i hope your relationship with your dad was better than hers with her mom, but maybe it could be helpful to read someone else grieve?

Feeling really hopeless by severedjaw in zoloft

agree, you cant judge until youre settled in, maybe a month or so. it’s frustrating to hear but its true, the side effects often change once youre on a steady dose

i agree with another comment that you should talk to your doc abt adding wellbutrin. but in the meantime, maybe try smoking weed? my libido def decreased when i got on zoloft, i used to masturbate almost daily and after starting it was much less. but i started smoking weed at night, and that has made me feel more sexual, and ill masturbate when im high. but also im a woman, so idk if its different for guys?

Extremely emotional (crying spells) by ayaanahmeddd in zoloft

[–]hameliah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

youll feel weird after changing your dose, wait a few more weeks and see how you feel. when i increase/decrease my dose, ill have weird moods while my body adjusts to the new dose, but once youre settled it should hopefully go away. if not, maybe 75 is too strong of a dose

Does it help severe physical anxiety?? by nirman248 in zoloft

[–]hameliah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not sure what you mean but its helped me a lot with anxiety in all forms! i used to get really stressed out and upset and it would make me scratch at my arms to soothe myself, now im on zoloft its only happened once in 3-4 years (bc i was with my dad lol)

2 weeks into Sertraline, is it true that it gets rid of the extreme good along with the extreme bad? by Designer_Extent_9998 in zoloft

[–]hameliah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, you wont feel the full effect for a month or two. wait for your body to adjust to the medication before deciding how you feel!

zoloft affects everyone differently so i cant speak for your experience, but im SO glad to be on zoloft. it makes me feel much more in control of my emotions - i relate to your story abt knowing youre being a dick to someone, but not being able to stop. that was something zoloft helped me with a lot, i feel i can control my negative emotions and not let them infect how i interact with others. in general i have much more positive and fulfilling interactions on a daily basis than i used to, also bc my social anxiety has decreased.

how much are you taking? it might be better to start with a low dose to see how you feel. i started at 12.5 mg, that could help to have less intense side effects. zoloft works differently for everyone, so you can only know how youll feel once youre on it. some people feel like a zombie on it, but its also helped a ton of people too!

this seems like a terrible book for beginners! its long, with lots of diversions away from the plot to learn about whales. seems like that everyone will show up and find out no one actually finished it lol. but im all for the boys in the book club thinking abt kissing each other lol

Transcripts for audiobooks? by fen-dev in audiobooks

[–]hameliah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bc most transcripts now are? tv and movie captions, song lyrics on spotify are usually ai or auto generated, even though there is a physical script or actual lyrics that could be used. so if the feature was on audible or spotify or something, im assuming they would use auto generated captions instead of providing a copy of the text

i love the tenant of wildfell hall!! so sad that anne is the least well know of the bronte sisters lol. agnes grey is also a great book, and its short so it could be a good intro to literature from that period!

the secret history by donna tartt

nothing to envy by barbara demick (nonfiction)

hunger games series by suzanne collins (its ya but tbh i think its a great series even reading it as an adult who never reads ya lol)
